The Habs are 1-1 on this road trip and have scored 1 regulation time goal. Too much to expect them to score 2 or more goals tonight?

Well it's gonna depend a lot on our top 6 because the only two players that scored in our bottom 6 are scratched.

Still have no idea why Bourque is still in our line-up. The guy is a blackhole offensively.

3 pts in his last 19 games. 1 goal in his last 29 reg. season games, 3 in his last 50 games.

Doesn't bring ANYTHING to the team. No leadership, no physicality, no hit, no fight, no offense, no defense.

Over the last 3 seasons, Desharnais: 0.6 goals per 60 mins at ES, Lars Eller: 0.6 goals per 60 mins at ES. One had Pacioretty the whole time
Is that goals that these guys scored themselves or is it goals for that were scored while they were on the ice? I'm guessing this is GF while on the ice otherwise why mention Pacioretty?

It's not like a CFL thing where you can't use too many imports.
Wait a minute Eller Sekac hmmmm...

Only thing with bringing up Thornton's goals is that he has eclipsed 20 goals often and even broke 30. But I agree with your general point.

Right, but if the theory goes that a #1C's goals should increase by playing with the team's best players and getting the prime ice time, then Thornton should always be around 20-30 instead of 10-15.

You literally brought up Thorton's goal total and said he's a 3rd liner when defending DD's 0.6g/60....
Ya lord have mercy.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you missed the point, keep at it though...

He's 7th on the team with 13 hits in 10 games. He and Eller help create our only goal in the last 2 games.

Bourque sucks, but when he's still giving more of an effort than a lot of players on the team, you know your team has some serious issues.

He should be way higher, especially with his size and the fact that he doesn't produce much offensively.

I agree that his effort is there this season... but at one point, you got to give the chance to someone else, or find solution to our third line. MT is icing a scoreless bottom 6 tonight.

Bournival-Eller-Sekac would make a much better third line IMO.

Put Eller in offensive role would be suicide. Like it or not DD is a better option for offensive duty on first line. I admit DD is far from the perfect guy for that, but we don't have a choice.

Eller is lost in offensive zone since the last 3 year and since the start of the year he's lost in d-zone where he has to be a beast.

I think his main weakness is his skating. Probably the main reason why he's not an even better playmaker.

He has no moves that better playmakers do have nor the aptitude that they have in finding the open man or creating something for the open man. His small size makes him a non-asset on the boards, where valuable puck battles, when won, can create scoring chances.

Even slow skaters like Ribeiro aren't as plain in their style of play as DD. Once cannot obfuscate why DD cannot elevate his right winger's goal production. A true playmaker can elevate those around him. But throw Joe Thornton instead of DD, and I'll bet a million bucks that sudden, Bgally has many more chances per game than he does now, and our PP wouldn't be so anemic.

Hoping for a good game tonight guys. Always enjoy it when the Habs come to town.

As a sidebar, you guys appear to have greatly benefited from our previous management's mismanagement. We never should of got rid of Weise whom we ultimately got nothing but a 5th round draft pick for. We received nothing for Malhotra. That's some bad management there.

Was happy as hell you guys took down the Bruins last playoffs. Hope to see you do it again so Lucic's head will literally explode in the handshake line. It will be a small explosion though, as there isn't much brains in there to explode.

I don't care. He made Pacioretty shooting for goal. Eller has ZERO playmaker ability. And have we seen Eller's shot more than DD? Nope.

I'm not defending DD. We just don't have another offensive centre that could take the pressure of first line duty, yet.... (I'm looking at you Chucky)
