Patch deserved criticism at the beginning of the season. He was SOFT as ****. But he's been great for a while now.

Disappearing in the playoffs? Sulking at the first sign of adversity?

He may be the best we have but it's by default.

People are way too harsh on Pacioretty. He's been carrying Habs offense all by himself for quite a while now.

Being PPG while your linemates are at like 0.3 PPG recently is really difficult.

The ACC has terrible ice.. also Radulov needs to wake up. His plays hasn't been up to his standards for a while now.

And people want to give him whatever he wants..rumor is hes looking for 7 million a year for three years or less for term. No thanks.

Nylander has such a quick stick... Man would it be nice to have a player like that.

Tanking a few years for guys like that would be nice but the way the Habs under Bergevin have trended, I'm thinking if he's still the GM and keeps same systems and people employed it wouldn't matter. We'd ruin their developments. Outside of Price, how many of our scant top 10 picks turned out great? Galchenyuk still a work in progress, Kostitsyn never became a bonafide quality 1st liner. Price really. Patches is the best goal scorer the Habs churned out since Richer and he was a late 1st round "project" they said at the time. It's gonna be hard enough for the Leafs to make sure the fishbowl of Toronto doesn't lead to decline but their odds of future greatness much stronger than ours. I don't think that can be argued.

Its been awhile since Ive been nervous watching a hockey game. This game has a playoff atmosphere

It's because habs are actually playing. They've put hearts and brains so far in this game. Mistakes of course, lacking confidence obviously, but they actually want to win, so do we. I like the direction it's taking.

Pacioretty has 9 goals in 31 games against PO teams.

Be that as it may, the whole team has had issues with true quality teams all season. Patches is one of the last guys I'd pick on this season. Guy is on pace for his 2nd highest total in a season and is paid under his market value. We can talk about his captain abilities since the team has looked more rudderless since he got the C, but without his goal scoring we'd be down the near the bottom of the NHL in offence (and we've been heading to the middle of the pack this past month after being top 5-7 most of the season).

AG is now 3rd for points since middle of January (behind Radu and Patch). Byron 2 points in his lat 17 games. Same as Carr who played only 5 games in the same amount of time. Plekanec 3 points in his last 17 games. 1 more than carr who again played only 5 games.

At the end of the day, you win or die with your best players.

Being the best scorer on a team that can't score doesn't make you good. He's a streaky sniper with a knack of dissapearing when the games have meaaning.
