He's disappointing for sure. I thought after his hot start maybe he was playing injured, but its looking like what you see is what you get.

I don't think the trade will be a disaster, but pk is better.

That said, there are circumstances behind the trade we don't know

Et tu, Frank?

Matthews having a strong game but Leafs miss Marner.

Habs look a bit clumsy out there at times but they did have a nice stretch in the second.

Weber made Emelin look good for half of the season... Maybe he deserve credit somewhere

What big saves? Pucks have been floating threw him all night. We had two nice setups but been badly outplayed again.

No, pucks have been going wide of the net. It's frustrating to watch the net missed on some good scoring chances.

The leafs have not been playing great for most of the game, and therefore, Montreal has gotten away with it so far.

he's in worse shape than me on a first date:laugh:...like he's just uncomfortable out there...hesitant, doesnt make good decisions I'm really hoping we can add a good skater back there at the deadline and hanzal/sharp/vanek

He only looks comfortable with Weber.

No one cares
It's astounding how MB is always saying he wants a mobile D with a good first pass. Not only they're mostly slow, they can't clear the zone or make an outlet pass. And they can't skate the puck out of the zone. In theory, Petry and Beau should be able but they're so inconsistent, they're only able to do so 1/4 of the year. Markov still has puck skills and puck poise but his legs are gone. Weber.... no comment. Emelin is also super inconsistent, some days he looks like a decent #2/#3, other days, he's barely a third pairing d-man.

My wife is watching this game with me(she never does) and she is no hockey fan. She keeps mentioning how bad we are with the puck in our end. It is brutal to watch.

Two horrendous pucks went threw him in the first, one Gardiner took a great penalty on, the other somehow hit the post. The second period, we barried both scoring chances. Saying we've gotten away with it is an understatement.

Christ, just saw the Jackets destroyed the Islanders 7-0 and we play Columbus this week. Not looking forward to that game.

MB poor handling of Subban's contracts are the circumstances.

But we won't get into that tonight.

Weber is ok but he was overrated for sure. He's the type of player you respect and feel confident playing with but he's not a game breaker or a guy that will make an average team a contender. I like him but he's no superstar.

We can argue MB, MT, PK, Weber, DD topics every other day... It's game day, lets just agree to support the team.

A win here and Monday vs NJ will be huge once we run into the Jackets (who've won 5 straight against us and won by at least 3 in all but one of those), Preds, Rangers (albeit we sorta raise our game against them), Flames, Oilers (2 big Western teams we struggle with especially in road affairs), Blackhawks then home-and-home with the Sens before the Wings become our first "easy" opponent in a while (other than the Canucks but ya never know in a West Coast game).
