I wouldn't do it if the expansion draft weren't a thing. But I really still like Scherbak as a prospect (we need wings and I think he'd instantly become our best forward prospect after Jost), and I'd much rather pick up a decent prospect then lose Soderberg for nothing. Not sure if other teams would offer something comparable.

Greer and JTC are better. And I'm sure Avs would get someting better than a cap dump, a guy they have mo need for and a run of the mill prospect for a 2nd line center.
