Whoever came up with the idea to switch out Toia and Oyongo should be slapped behind the head, even if it's Biello. They're BOTH having brutal camps, Oyongo can't use his left foot to full use and Toia looks lost in his marking.

Oyongo's stronger foot is his left foot. On the right side he often used to cut inside for the cross.

Usually full backs play on their stronger foot side and wingers play on their opposite side, this way the winger can cut inside and be more creative with the ball, and gives the opportunity for the full back to overlap, and this is what I think Biello is trying to achieve. Thing is Toia is limited offensively and completely inept with his right foot.

That's all nice and dandy, except cutting in the middle is one of Oyongo's strong points....

His crosses are much better when he stops and uses his left foot to curl it inside instead of out.

I disagree. Oyongo's crosses are much more effective on the left side. Just last night he created a scoring chance for AJH with a very good cross but AJH left a tad too early so he was offside.

He's kind of a one trick pony on the left side though... you know he will only cross it as soon as he's in the offensive zone (sry for hockey ref). At least on the right side he was dipsy doodling and throwing down random crosses

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree here. I remember him doing pretty nice "dipsy doodling" on the left side as well. And pretty much everything he tried in that sense last year ended up leading to nothing as his shown by the fact that he didn't even record a single assist last season.

I think it's fair to say that if he can regularly cross the ball in the box, like he did yesterday, with Drogba on the receiving end of it, it's gonna pay off. To me, that's an ability that we shouldn't pass on, specially since he's pretty much the only guy we have that can do it right.

Anyway, I guess we're gonna have to wait and see.

This.

Even if Toia is not working, we have Camara who can play on RB quite well.

Yes Toia was a frigging beast defensively on the left, but what's we're missing is offense, hence why you'd put your offensive Fullback on his strongest side.

Getting Toia out of the lineup is not an option, more so if it's to get Oyongo going on the left when his season changed after we sent him to the right side.
