Dinosaur hockey alive and well in Montreal.

On one hand I'm saying that Julien + Price + Weber is a match made in heaven for his defensive system.

Then I remember it's 2017 not 2011, the game has changed, and he doesn't have a center anywhere close to the caliber of Patrice Bergeron as far as defensive play goes.

As far as Im concerned Claude sure as hell aint the bad guy here.

The Bruins decided they no longer wanted him and exercised their right to fire his ass. Cool. Thats their right.

JJ just saved himself over 3 million bucks. Cool again . Its his money.

Net/net, Claude can find a job where he likes. Its not like a Parcells move.

I feel the same way, Wally.

I don't like that he's back in Montreal. I could have rooted for him with another team, but not there. But I understand that he has a right to accept a job wherever he is offered one. I appreciate what he did in Boston.

how did anyone not see this coming, this was as easy as predicting the sun rising tomorrow

Personally, I thought he'd end up in Vegas.

He's the perfect guy for a new franchise, full of veterans, IMO

That could be his Thomas + Chara in Montreal.

B's should have told him to wait. Oh well.

If Clode really wanted to stick to the Bruins he'd coach an uptempo offensive style game in Montreal.

Claude's first order of business:

1. Stop gaining blue line with puck., Convert to dump and chase
2. Get the 4th line more minutes
3. Convert Galchenyuk to wing since he can't play center in such a complex system
4. Funnel puck back to d to set up offense
5. Train all forwards to back check before puck is even in offensive zone
6. Get 3rd line more minutes
7. Swap Patches out for Desharnais on PP
8. Profit

Funny I told my good friend who is a Habs fan unfortunately to expect Galchenyuk's days of playing in the middle to come to an end.

Thanks

TSN Radio is saying Geoff Molson personally asked Jeremy Jacobs for permission and Cam and Don were not involved in the decision.

Agree.

I'll take it one step further.

I hope he has success with the Canadiens.

I don't think the Bruins are going anywhere meaningful any time soon anyway.
Perhaps I don't fully "get" the rivalry, but I don't hate the Canadiens.
I'd rather see them win than a random expansion team, and I definitely hate the Penguins and Blackhawks more.

Probably an age thing on my part. I don't really have any hockey memories before the Bruins "May Day" series against Buffalo.

I vaguely remember the Canadiens and Kings Finals.

So long as Sweeney doesn't hire Therien there are no bad guys in this.

That 2011 team basically went 13 forwards deep and our #6 was Tomas kaberle who was pretty good before coming here.

Montreal is an ok team. Not great.

I'm the exact opposite. Do you know how easily the Bruins can exploit this system having been in it for the last 10 years?

and Cassidy's below the dots speedy forecheck is just the way to exploit Claude's system too. Reminds me of the Flyers picking apart Claude's D-to-D passes in 2010.
