Desharnais is probably the last thing Maloney would ask for from Montreal.

He'd probably want something like a pick/prospect package; some Coyotes fans are convinced that Vermette will get a 1st rounder from some team at the deadline but I don't think so.

Zbynek Michalek might be had for a 4th or 3rd or so, might be worth a gamble to get a shot blocking machine like him for the playoffs. It's a risk though because while he's not too old yet, he's the kind of defenseman whose body breaks down early and he's been playing like he's on his last legs. Might very well be his last season in the NHL.

He's even less effective on the 3rd and 4th line because he isn't physical. His offensive game is the only good part of his game so if he's playing he's got to be on the 1st two lines, so I get the decision to play him there. It just sucks that he's having such a hard time this season with his offensive game.
