I used to be a huge Doughty fan all the way back to his Guelph days. Maybe it's the way the league has moved towards more mobile d-men or the years of conservative coaching controlling him, but he really does seem less and less special as the years have gone on.

Why wouldn't he change lines under Sweeney though? Under Bergevin the issue is that Bergevin himself is getting a lot of heat for putting an inept roster, so it's normal that the coach is trying to cover his boss and make things work as quickly as possible.

I have no idea. The lines were the lines from pretty much the start of the year. It was always like that with Julien, whether he succeeded or didn't.

The madness reached its peak in 2014 against the Habs when he refused to make any adjustment as it was obvious the series was slipping away. They had their Cup run in 2011 and Shawn Thornton was only used once injuries took their toll, but for some unknown reason, he could not lose his spot in the playoff lineup after 2011.

Since I am incredibly lazy, someone has to change the Dinkleberg to Fantenberg.

It’s early for the Julien pitchforks. Give him some time with a decent team.

Hmm. Good team see he’s become a better coach. Thanks
