Pac is fine when he's making one touch passes or immediately shooting as soon as the puck is on his stick.

But when he begins to take his time and thinks before making a play... It can get a little bit hairy.

I got a brilliant idea! Maybe we should play Galchenyuk on the right side(you know where he got like 20 goals from last year), Weber on the left side before we waste 50 seconds, Pacioretty on the slot for a wrist shot, Markov giving it to Galchenyuk or Weber, AND McCarron to park his ass at the front of the net(not like he does anything else). We may have a better PP if we play our best players on their proper sides, but I guess they know what they are doing :shakehead.

Awful period but there is still lots of time. Hopefully they come out strong in the 2nd.

Players and refs in the league know that Gallagher has no talent whatsoever and that his only way of "contributing" is to be chippy/dirty with the goaltender and stir up s*it. Players with those attributes don't get a lot of respect from fellow peers and the officials.

When hes on the half board its freaking laughable.

Espcially when we have one of the best options there in chuck.

No doubt... I say it all the time how this team is wasting Galchneyuk's tremendous shot on the PP. Seeing him out there parked in front of the crease or behind the net, makes my blood boil.

Man we need a top 6 centre, danault just isn't good enough offensively, not even close.

Yeah, his offense has been lagging lately. Bad receptions, bad positioning, poor passes, missed shots... and though he's good defensively, even that's been taking a toll lately. Seems like the grind of the 80 game NHL schedule is getting to a young guy like him.

I really struggle to find the logic in the way they run the PP.

Danault has to play on the 1st line because defensively chucky is a dumpster fire.

The centre situation will need revisiting, for what -- the 20th consecutive season now? :sarcasm:

In an unrelated perspective, with Steve Ott now Gallagher's teammate, we'll have to look elsewhere for one of these classic gems:

From October 20, 2015:

Brendan Gallagher has a reputation as a prime agitator that gets on the nerves of the opposition and gets them off their game.

We got another dose of that last night in the Canadiens/Blues game, when he took on the veteran Steve Ott with a quick verbal jab to get under his skin.

During the game, Gallagher quipped to Ott:

“How long have you been in the League?” Ott replied, “15 years,” to which Gallagher responded “15 years is a long time to do nothing at all!”

Offensively he is even worse. How the hell can you honestly think and be happy with Danault as our #1 center?

I know man...it's tough not to have a scapegoat....I understand that it was much funnier when DD was around and you need a new one. And incredibly enough....you found one. Congrats.

By the way, there are no #1 C's on this team. There's 1 C who's, right now, medicore offensively but is very good defensively. And 1 C who's good offensively but mediocre defensively. A REAL #1C is good all-around. We don't have that. So the idea is not to go with #1, or #2, but to find the best chemistry between 3 players on a line to get the best results possible.

Even without the Galchenyuk thing(which should be so freaking obvious since that's where he scores most his goals) why do we always play Markov on the left side and Weber on the right side? They play hot potato for a minute and they finally set-up at the end.

I appreciate Danault for what he brings but having on the first line over Galchenyuk because he's better defensively does not make us a better team... especially for a team that can't score goal.

So who is the 1C that is mediocre offensively? The guy that hasnt done anything in what 12 games now?!?

Fixed, players who play with King and Lekhonen while producing are very good offensively.

Danault is in a tough spot, he was brought here to be number 3 but finds himself at number 1 and he is probably over his head but like you said we have 2 guys each just good at one thing. You cannot win in this league without a true number one center.
