Question: If a player passes the puck and it hits a skate and then deflects towards the net forcing the goalie to make a save, does it count as a shot?

DD could turn around and tee up his 5 mph slapshot at Price and it would count as a shot.

Isn't there a way to get a goal without a shot being recorded? Like own goals and such? I guess if a goal goes in, you have to have a shot recorded as well?
