Kind of jealous of the Leafs. They hired a fantastic new director of amateur scouting in Mark Leach whom I wish we had

All scouting types have a short shelf life - their success is too heavily dependent on (recency bias) who they know and those people change / move on.

Like Al Murray in TBay - he was tracking Point & Cirelli for Hockey Canada from their early teens and had inside knowledge, but last 7-years of his tenure were not very good

Madden Jr is a genius around these parts but he’s been meh overall (6-straight top-10 picks, 3-of which top-3)
