What exactly would be the incentive to quiet down the crowd for broadcast?

I mean I know in some circumstances they have elevated crowd noise. But I've never heard of the opposite.

I can't see a single reason they would do such a thing.

Are there different audio engineers for NBCSN or do they hire the local guys for that? MSG does that, so it would make sense if it were the same engineers. It's a stylistic choice.

AFAIK, they do it themselves. They use MSG's mics but mix it themselves. MSG has less focus on the ice and more on the crowd compared to NBC for sure. MSG's sound mixing is pretty top notch, I think.

Okay, then my point stands. The crowd is quieter as compared to other crowds in other arenas with the same sound mixing.

watch the game. If you cannot hear the crowd that I hear on the CBC feed, then too ****ing bad.

Edit: I feel sorry for anyone that has to listen to the NBC tools, seriously I do.
