Yes, its called 'AUDIO MIXING'

What exactly would be the incentive to quiet down the crowd for broadcast?

I mean I know in some circumstances they have elevated crowd noise. But I've never heard of the opposite.

I can't see a single reason they would do such a thing.

Reminds me of Game 3 against Pittsburgh. Give up a couple goals on 15-16 shots but can't get one pass Fleury.

Just got to keep getting good chances and convert this period.

OKAY, and have they been engaging in this practice in Montreal as well?

This has already been answered.

Yes.

They have.

Do you watch games on NBC and other channels? If you compare the crowd noise from NBC to, say, RDS, it's tremendously louder on the non-NBC channel. This is not that difficult of a question. Multiple people have told you they do this everywhere.

Tokarski has been very good so far, but we need to get better shots, and we need to shoot quick. We're giving him chances to read the play before shooting and he's reacting perfectly.

This game looks like a good 20 we've played this year. Outplay the other team, don't score.

It allows the listener to focus on the commentary and on-ice audio (i.e. whistles). There's a reason that the NBC audio feed sounds different than the home broadcaster's audio feed. It's been like that forever. This isn't something new.

Wow you guys are wound up tight. I get it. What I don't quite get is if you are saying there is a conspiracy to make the Rangers crowd sound quieter than the Canadiens crowd.

Absolutely no one has even suggested that. We even had a discussion about the poor audio during the last game. The one in Montreal.
