I can see why Winnipeg doesn't do this, but I can also see that Guhle and a 1st are a decent offer. Just not enough. We'd have to add a useful roster player and even then, it becomes a timing issue: Winnipeg isn't rebuilding from scratch.

If Habs dont finish with the 1st overall pick would both teams do this trade

To MTL :

Pierre Luc Dubois

To WPG :

2022 Calgary 1st Round Pick
Kaiden Guhle
Ryan Poehling

Habs draft Nemec with our pick
Nope. As soon as you mention pld it’s ridiculous.

Only deal that would make sense is Suzuki +

You’re name describes this post. Garbage yuck. Jets would never do this.

Well, RP might be a first round draft pick but he is hardly anything special. It is essentially Guhle and the Flames 1st for PLD which is not enough

Absolutely ridiculous. Suzuki is better than Dubois. The plus would be on Winnipeg's side. But Winnipeg has very few good players so they can't afford to move Dubois unless they are getting a lot back.

:help:

OK, maybe you could make an argument that Suzuki is better. I think you would be wrong since Dubois out paces Suzuki in most categories as per Natural Stat Trick. They are close in value IMO but if Montreal is trying to acquire Dubois the ask is Suzuki, no doubt.

And then your juvenile comment that "Winnipeg has very few good players". Compared to Montreal they are stacked!

While not a good team, the Jets have Connor, Dubois, Ehlers, Scheifele who would all play in your top 6. Morrissey would be your #1 D and Hellebucyk your #1 goalie.

So what? I never said Montreal had a good team. They are rebuilding. Winnipeg is solid in net. Of course Canadiens might be too if Price returns. Jets are lacking in depth.
In any event Suzuki and Dubois are close but Suzuki is a leader and I am not convinced Dubois is a guy you win with. And I'd rather add a Wright or Cooley to Habs group of centres (if they get the chance) than Dubois.

 Poehling is no 1st rounder now, You'd be lucky to get a 3rd or 4th round pick for him. And yeah players like PLD could return 3 1st rounders rather easily.
I have to admit, as a Habs fan, if we could add PLD for the Flames pick this year, Florida's pick next year, and another pick from a playoff team (or a Habs 2nd which is almost a 1st rounder, and with a 3d could probably be traded for a 1st), I'd do it in a second. And that would be 3 1sts.
PLD, Suzuki, Dvorak and Evans would be a great C core to build around.

Cool it was a mtl fan who made this post not a jet so no deal from both teams.
Cool all the numbers say Pld is a leader but your gut… great way for making any decisions.
