Maybe PKP is done with Controversial Politics? and the oppertunity to lose a bit of cash to save Foofball in Montreal? can be good for his resume to bring The NHL to La Capitale? Better than folding the team. that's 4-Sure! R.

He is done with politics. He said in his presser it's all behind him.

But his political views are still the same. I just wouldn't want him trying to impose those on the team. I'm not saying it's what he'll do. I just hope it doesn't become an issue within the organization.

Here is the presser for anyone who wants to watch it:

Last time when the franchise changed hands, there were several potential investors. I wonder how many were vying for ownership of the Als this time. With those kind of losses, there couldn’t have been too many willing to go through this.

I think there were several who approached the league with interest. Denis Coderre was on with JiC yesterday morning and he admitted he was heading one of the groups interested in buying the Als.

PKP’s main political view is getting free money from his buddies. We bought him a big arena for an AHL team to play in and now we’ll buy him a stadium and pay for his football expenses.

No problem if he wants to buy the team but the province should be taking money from him not giving him more.

PKP political views are less controversial than Molson family history. Independantists are normal people and not everything they do has a hidden agenda of destroying your Canada you know.

It becomes a good tax write-off for PKP, while being able to use his Quebecor business (and employees) AND avoid affecting Quebecor’s bottom line.

I made no other statement other than to ask about price paid and the profitability of the franchise.

My original statement did not get "rebuked" when it was based on a whole other context. The ownership of property or the operation of one's business in the city are not the only ways to describe someone's connection to a location.
So all his business, life (his house is next to the stadium), childhood and family (even extended) are in Montréal, but you still claime he's "not at all a local guy" and more a Québec city guy?

I'm not even trying to be an a-hole, you should just recognize that you don't know the situation and had the impression he was a Québec city guy because of the Centre Videotron and the return of the Nordiques.

All irrelevant. It doesn't mean any of that affects his views.

Péladeau doesn't care about politics when he is smelling $$$ opportunities. He owns the Sun newspaper-,medias, which are anti-French and anti-Quebec since ages.

Probably the best guy they could have hired after Cecchini. Weightman is the one who helped get the Laval Rocket going and making Place Bell a go-to destination for hockey and for other multi-entertainment events. He also helped get 3R going when they first started operating.

I don't like that hired personally. Let's say that I have inside info in the sport business and his reputation is not that good

Saw parts of it, didn't look bad, typical pre-season.

Edit: I just wanted to comment favorably in Cody Fajardo's performance. Nice to have a real QB back there.
That play where he was under heavy pressure but still managed to escape the sack and gain 7-8 yards with his legs, loved it. And he can throw. No more wax statue Harris and low IQ, tunnel vision Adams. If he stays healthy this could be a great signing.

Sigh, I don't know why i keep giving the Als the light of day every year but i try..since I'm Local I guess and I want my sports teams to do well

But I gave em the first 5 games last year and they let me down awfully bad lol so I stopped paying attention again
A good start would really go a long way for me this year
I'm looking at you Danny.

Grand opening by PKP Productions.

Our Lady Peace performs at halftime.

Real odd to hear Videotron ads on Bell-owned 690.

Maybe attending a tailgate might be something fun to try this season. Bring on the Poutine Helmets!
