Because we are not in the 1940-1960s when coaches could even threaten the livelyhood of generational players.

The world has evolved.
No, but why did you feel the need to bring up Michel Therrien to the conversation?

It's irrelevant.

So we're at the stage past early season 'anything-can-happen' confidence, which whether we find it silly or not these athletes have to have that mentality every season. But now things are coming into reality, and you can tell the initial result of losing this bad this often is the team kind of lost and lacking energy, and that's because the young guys on the team are not having fun right now, and they are reacting accordingly. The vets stink right now for the most part, so together the team has flatlined. But do not despair!

We need to keep in mind that the team will likely get more bearable to watch as the vets finally get shipped and maybe some injuries occur and some new blood play their hearts out because they want to stay in the NHL. I doubt we get much better record wise, but I imagine the team will eventually find a way to stay in games longer like they did at the start of the year. The roster is bloated, the coach is being challenged to be the bad guy and not just the fun guy, and the GM has work to do. Should be interesting to see which of the young guys can pull it together and start to get hungry to win again. Good test of character....hope that word isn't banned haha
