He picked up the fight because Jansen hit A.gally kind of late.

Yes, but there's a logic behind dropping the gloves with someone who's rocking your team's best players. A fighting penalty is 5 minutes. That's 5 minutes where said rocker can cool off and possibly come off tempo, potentially reducing his impact on the game.
