Agreed, Punk's not the type of guy to back out of this fight willingly (from what we know).

But I have to say, I really do have mixed feelings on the guy. Sometimes he shows gestures of kindness and sincerity, other times he acts like an angsty teenager who can't handle criticism.

Are we really acting like Punk is getting a surgery he doesn't need just to avoid a fight? This guy wrestled for over a decade, it's not hard to believe that a dormant back injury would re-appear, especially under intense mma training.

For all you people questioning his toughness: I'd like to see you guys train for an mma fight in your late 30's after wrestling for most of your adult lives. You can hate his attitude and I agree to an extent, but he's trying to do something that very few people get to do and his body is clearly in no shape to do what he is doing. I don't see how you guys can't respect that.

This guy could make money by doing very little but he's voluntarily choosing perhaps the most physically demanding job there is and he's doing it after years of abuse. That's worthy of respect.

Then, call me crazy, but WHY IS HE DOING IT?!

If his post-WWE "career" is nothing but surgery and delays, he's just setting himself up for an implosion on the grandest stage.

Just think of the fallout if/when he finally has that debut match (it's already been over a year since he left WWE), and loses. What's next? Another year of training before the next one? :help:

Punk has repeatedly bashed his critics for being skeptical of how he would do in MMA and so far he is doing nothing to shut them up he is actually proving alot of them right. he has alot of mileage on his body, probably alot more than most 38 year old MMA fighters.

he will get his 1 or 2 fights and be done, zero chance he has 8

He makes it seem like his mood to you depends on how you treat him, but then he randomly goes off on an interviewer asking a legitimate question for his article on Complex.

Whatever. Awesome performer in the WWE. As a person, whatever.

Because if UFC was willing to sign him and it's something he really wanted to try then why not? Even if he gets ktfo in his first fight after all these delays who cares? He tried something that most people would think to be impossible.

I just really think people are going out of their way to rip the guy because he's a dick.

Obviously we just get bits and pieces as to what these people are actually like, but he's always struck me as far more of the latter.

Punk has repeatedly bashed his critics for being skeptical of how he would do in MMA and so far he is doing nothing to shut them up he is actually proving alot of them right. he has alot of mileage on his body, probably alot more than most 38 year old MMA fighters.

It's getting to the point where I'd put the odds of him ever stepping in the ring at about 50/50.

Linden Vey is so random.

People are still acting like babies over the fact that when he took over as GM the pipeline was utterly empty so he traded a 2nd to get Vey and try to get a transition going. Obviously not worth a 2nd in hindsight but offers were up to that area or atleast 3rds at the time. It keeps getting brought up as one of those moments where he "overpaid for an asset because he's an idiot, therefore he can't possibly be a competent General Manager, much less a rational person" arguments.

You sure you don't want to trade fanbases MCG? I'm sure I'll love being a Habs fan atm.

I had to look at beardless photos cause the beards scuzzy it up a bit.

Luke Harper
Erick Rowen
Bray Wyatt
Braun Strowman

Bray would probably be the best looking if he was a little slimmer.

This was actually very difficult. Subjectively I find none of them that attractive (although Bray has this adorable teddy bear thing going for him).
