Proposal: MN-NYI

We don’t want to do trades with the islanders. Your idea of “value” is just screwing other teams. Find someone else.
Why do you keep acting like the Isles scammed the Avs? Nobody put a gun to their head to accept the ask, they could have countered with a less valuable prospect or pick. They decided Brock’s value was a first and a great prospect. Sorry you’re mad about this!

Not really. You’re convinced that everyone is lowballing teams on trades and because said player didn’t work out it’s automatically shafting the team that acquired him. Say Jiricek doesn’t work out and only becomes a bottom pairing guy who can’t play special teams. Will you be fine with it or will it just be Guerin getting shafted?
I appreciate your team suckering Colorado into the massive price they paid for your depreciated asset. That doesn't mean that's what Nelson's value is or was. You just got lucky because Sakic was/is a moron.

Nelson is a declining asset that clearly was not worth what he was traded for at the time of the trade and going forward.

Jiricek is 21 years old, has shown he can play in the NHL, and his value should appreciate going forward given his age.

I'd much rather pay for the guy who's value should appreciate going forward and has team control.

It's the insisting from Islanders fans on that being what Nelson was actually worth that bothers me. He wasn't worth that at all.

Just sounds like you’re bitter that Brock went for more than your 2nd plus Peart/Lambos offers we kept seeing. Realistically the whole ordeal of 8675309 rumors of him getting traded made the season rough for him and it showed. So you can be convinced the Islanders suckered another team into acquiring Brock Nelson but that’s not even close to the case.
Team looking for a 2C option to replace Rantanen and they go out and get the top 2C option on the market. The value was just too rich in your mind for the Wild. Now watch Minnesota sign Brock Nelson for 3x$7m and he goes back to his old self scoring 35 next year. Will you be complaining then? I highly doubt it.

We don’t have to insist anything. Someone paid the price, that determined his value. That you weren’t willing to pay that price and think it was a bad deal doesn’t matter.

I'm happy that Brock went anywhere but Minnesota. Your team screwing the avs out of assets helps my team. But islander fans puffing their chest out like a declining Nelson was worth that price are absolutely pathetic.

You guys aren’t beating Colorado, Winnipeg, Dallas or St Louis but ok. I’ll let you keep thinking this just screwed Colorado to help your team.

That trade is long over. Both teams are done so I’m not sure why a meltdown is needed about Nelson when this is a thread about Rossi/horvat.
yeah see this is what I was talking about when I mentioned wild fans absolutely losing their mind over Brock Nelson lmao.

Back then it was “we’ll just take him for free in the summer” and 20 games later it’s “he’s f***ing terrible and always has been”. Lively bunch.

For the record, he hasn't always been f***ing terrible, mostly just this season. We're still gonna take him for free in the summer, just not sure we ever said we'd be happy about that.

A few fans doesn’t include the whole base

Tade value is decided in finality by what you received in a trade.

Islanders received a good return for Nelson and that was his market value because that is what the market paid.

Don't know why some fellow wild fans are picking this hill to die on.
