Proposal: MN-NYI

I’d also like to lose Cizikas and frankly would’ve preferred he didn’t get the Lou special deal, longer term with less AAV.

Nevertheless here we are and in my mind Cizikas has negative value despite some love that remains with a segment of Isles fans.
Personally I feel like Cizikas is easier due to no contract restrictions and being a bit cheaper (half the salary). Also moving Casey would mean the real changing of the guard since he’s the last pillar left from the “best 4th line in hockey”. Personally I feel like the move is to keep Pageau and Lee to use up 2 veteran spots and move out Zeek, Engvall and Duclair for futures/other short term deals.

I guess I hadn’t really considered Horvat. How is his game going? It looks like hi production has dropped quite a bit. Is that because of his play or the talent around him?

I don’t know about any pluses lol. Horvat is 30. It’s easy to squint your eyes and see how Rossi could take another step and Horvat takes a step back and this is one of the worst trades of all time. I’m not saying I think that’s the likely outcome, but I don’t think Horvat holds nearly the value he did when you acquired him. The Hertl trade is probably the comp.

I have been persuaded. Put your name in the hopper for the open GM position.

Now Wild fans, any interest in a gently used 4th line C who has some wear on the tires but comes cheaply.

Horvat has "jam"? Good skater, great on FO's, decent, but not great defensively. Not even close to JEE in terms of defense and physicality. Again, good player, but an expensive player who is leaving his best years, while Rossi is entering his.
I didn't say 'jam' was defense. He does have jam on the forecheck, and around the net. He's hard on the puck. But he's an excellent athlete, and is very durable. Injuries are always possible. That said, there's no reason to think he wont play at his current level for another 3 years.

That 4C will come with a well travelled winger signed for a few more years.

How could you town this down when he’s going to fix the QB problems the Vikings have as well:

Meh. If the baseball, football and basketball teams moved out of this town tomorrow, I'd have no idea beyond the bitching and whining of the locals. Fire them all into the sun for all I care.
