Both GMs have to accept so how is that screwing another team? It wasn’t like he was playing injured and the Islanders hid it from Colorado. Brock just didn’t have the chemistry they thought when he got there and it didn’t work out. Not every trade deadline pickup is going to be Butch Goring. If you want to blame anyone, blame Sakic for accepting the trade and not Lou.

A top 6 center who’s scored 30+ for consecutive seasons and plays in all situations is magically worth less because you wanted him for a 2nd and mediocre minor leaguer? That’s an interesting take. Might as well hang out with the Habs fans who think they can get a 25 year old stud top 6 center for a first and Laine.

Because values vary on the timing. Deadline value is different than offseason value. If there are more buyers than sellers that matters. There are so many factors that you seem to want to ignore.

You're being sarcastic, but if you actually traded a 2nd for Nyquist you would realize that wasn't his value at all for the same reasons that Nelson isn't worth what Colorado gave up. Not really. You’re convinced that everyone is lowballing teams on trades and because said player didn’t work out it’s automatically shafting the team that acquired him.
