Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I hate speaking about dismantling the team during a playoff series, but I don't know what we legitimately need to do. Yes, we can trade Gary and Andujar for a pitcher, but what piece can we get? Who becomes our everyday catcher? Do we bring back Voit to 1B, DJ to 2nd and Gleyber to SS if Didi walks? Gardner is a FA, do we bring him back another season?

Plenty of stop-gap catchers who can get on base and play D will be available.
You don't need 35 homers from your catcher.

This team was built for the regular season. Voit is one of the most overrated players on this board. The guy strikes out all the time.

They're not FAR away and the pieces they need are attainable, but yeah, this roster kinda needs to be overhauled a bit to win a WS.

The problem is that I don't trust Cashman to do it correctly. He's too stubborn.
I need names, which pieces should we get?
I like the idea of Tauchman starting next season. Let Gardy walk. Hicks and Stanton we are stuck with them due to their contracts.
One of these days will finally move on from Cashman and hire a GM who makes the gutsy moves that put you over the top.
The game may be changing but some things still hold true and that is Pitching wins championships, that is great Starting Pitching wins championships. Not overworked bullpens.
oh and hitters that make good contact, put balls in play, and hit line drives gap to gap. Not swing and miss specialists who try to elevate every pitch and against great pitching those turn into flyouts.

I'm looking through some options and holy shit, in 2019, catchers still SUUUUUUUUUCK at offense. No wonder people are willing to put up with Gary.
