Dallas Keuchel starts game 1 for the Braves.

Not good enough for the Yankees though!
Wasn't the story that the Yankees made an offer..the braves made an offer and he took the braves offer....and the Yankees would have beaten it if he came back to them, but he never did.

“We were interested. We made an offer that we were comfortable with and that was it. Atlanta made a higher one. It wasn’t like a back-and-forth. We had two that we ultimately made and we stopped and we waited to hear if it was a yes or a no. We were very transparent about where we’re at. There’s a financial limitation until we go into the next luxury tax level and that was obviously conveyed and that pushes next year’s No. 1 (top draft choice) pick back. There’s a number of different penalties associated with that. So we’re trying to stay under the second luxury tax penalty that crushes next year’s pick. All that stuff was communicated. Our highest offer was at the rate of the qualifying offer and Atlanta apparently went higher.”

Cashman's hands were tied behind his back by the greedy owners unfortunately.

Hopefully the next Mets' manager wont proclaim they will "love" their players during their intro press conference. I will never forget Mickey going on and on about how he and the organization were going to make the players feel loved. So soft...

No kidding. Ford should have made it in over Lyons. Do not undertand that move at all.

No way in hell they would only carry 11 pitchers. That being said, Lyons is the absolute last man in the pen and it was probably between him Gearrin, Cortez, and Tarpley. All of those options are ugly to me. Personally, I would have went with Ben Heller as he has the most upside.

The last position battle was between Ford and Voit. Voit has been a prolonged slump so they are betting on him coming out of it quick if he is forced into action.

i hope people dont lose their minds if we lose to Houston. They look like the strongest team I've seen since the 2018 Red Sox

They're insane. Their bullpen isn't that great but they don't need to rely on it when Verlander, Cole and Greinke are dominant through 7 or 8 innings.

Am I seeing this correctly? In NYC the only way to watch the game is if you subscribe to the MLB channel? Can that be right?

Did anyone else get a flashback of Beltran taking a called strike 3, just like Markakis did with the common denominator being the Cardinals? I wonder, if I were the only 1. Anyone else?

LeMahieu is the first case I've ever seen of a fielder who's good at other positions and can't play 1B.
