Anyone remember Strahan's final record setting sack (Giant's record I think)? Favre lay down riiiiight before Strahan reached him and they had a good laugh about it.

It's 200 strikeouts, not the strikeout record for all time. His teamates had fun with it, good for them. And the owner will gladly pay it out for building camaraderie among teamates and good PR in the news.

I think there was even audit captured before the game showing that Favre told Strahan he was going to do it

And where you think its awesome, I say that is "bush league". Makes a mockery of the game, for an individual statistic.
So many things involved here, and you are right in that their record is what it is and going nowhere......but so are 20 other teams not making PO's or whatever the number is.

1. Does he get more money from his contract if he hits 200?
If so......that would piss off owner......not cool
2. What about people betting on that game (Texas) does anyone think they didnt make bettor unnecessarily nervous about it?
3. A lesser form of "throwing a game". They should be fined.

Would have been one of the few times I would have been rooting for Boston. Would have loved nothing better than for him to get a hit and next up, hit a home run and then he would have LOST a chance to WIN, and the team could have lost.
It's baseball, bro. It's been a mockery since the 19th century.

big pete now holds the record for most homers by a NY national league player....willie mays hit 51 in 1955 and johnny mize hit 51 in 1947 both as NY Giants.

Guess he saw Stroman's tweet about the rotation.

Only reason I could think he's butthurt

304 homers with Stanton missing the majority of the season and Judge missing 8 weeks + the rehab time when he came back.

Wew
