Looks like another shitfest in the making

If we have to face Boston in the postseason we're not beating them, so our only hope is that they don't make it

Every time we play this team, their starting pitching outclasses ours.

On paper, I don't see it. The problem isn't our rotation, it's the guy coaching the rotation.

So the Yanks are really gonna go into Boston and get swept just like last year at the same point in the season huh.

I think we have to worry less about the Yanks facing the Sox in the postseason and more about whether the Yanks are going to win this years wild card game.

For all the praise Cashman gets....too many times has their chief rival thorough embarrassed this franchise since he's been GM.

I mean they are still up 10 in the loss on Boston with the loss tonight. If they blow the division, then go out quickly in the playoffs heads will roll.

Just win 1 of the 4 games, and Boston only gains two games on them.

Yeah I know. My head agrees. I guess, just the way things have been going the last few years my gut has a dreadfully fatalistic outlook.

Just one thing (my gut again), you really think heads would roll if they blew the division? I could just as easily see Steinbrenner/Cashman give excuses to validate the failure.

George Steinbrenner is rolling over in his grave.

He is watching this nerd Cashman do everything opposite of what he did to secure championships.

You go get the best available. You dont get outbid.

Verlander, Cole, Corbin, Keuchel. Cashman is a clown.

Pitching wins.

If they blow a 10 game lead with 60 to go, and then lose the wildcard game or win and don’t look competitive in the first round, I don’t see how Boone survives.

I don’t ever see Cash really leaving the Yankees. I think eventually he will just become president like Theo, and they will have a new gm, but Cash will still be a key decision maker.

Not sure how they didn't sign Keuchel. It was only for one year, so there was literally no risk.

They need to sign Cole as a FA after this year.

Yeah... the Yankees’ best stretch came as a result of George getting suspended and professionals like Watson and Stick Michaels taking over, but sure. :shakehead:

That and when was the last time he actually traded for a pitcher that was good for the Yankees?

f*** Cashman.

Agreed with Cashman staying no matter what which is unforgivable but I can definitely see how Boone survives as well, at least for another season. It would go something like this: 'The injuries just finally caught up to us. Boone had the team competing all year long as our top pitcher went down and we got almost no contributions from several of our best players...etc etc. We have full faith in Boone with a healthy team'

I think a lot will depend on his in-game management in the big spots in October. He basically looked like he had no idea how to manage last year in the playoffs, especially in that game 3.
