Not particularly related to anything but Juan Lagares is having one of the worst seasons I've seen from a Met in a long time. Quite literally amongst the bottom percentiles amongst position players in the entire league.

158 PA

.175/.242/.252 for a .494 OPS

.215 wOBA and a 33 wRC+

-1.3 fWAR

Low key he is still a good player imo. He is still above average in his talent at every aspect for his position. I always said this but I'm surprised he didn't blossom to an all star player. One of my favorite prospects ever.
Please, my balls in January are bigger than his WAR.

Needs one up around his ears.

Chapman and shaky outings go together like mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, AV and Tanner Glass.

Seriously though, can Yankees pitching not make Travis d'Arnaud look like Babe Ruth for the rest of my life? Or have Ottavino pitch to him. Just get him out. Like f***ing seriously.

Waiting for the day Chapman realizes he throws 100 mph and when the game is on the line and he needs to put away a batter, he chooses that pitch and nothing else.

Tired of that stubborn f*** trying to be deceiving and smart by mixing it up. So sick of it. You throw 100 mph. 100. Let them beat your best. Especially after you put runners on base you f*** head

At least if you're gonna go breaking pitch, it shouldn't be in the strikezone.

Judge walks and here comes Voit.

The Luke Voit train is pulling into Reality Avenue.
I also would like to know how many more 3rd strike fastballs he is going to take to end games before he swings the f***ing bat. He has a good season. A good one. But even before he was sidelined with the injury he was starting to cool down. Move him down in the order. And if he isnt fully healthy he shouldnt be back yet. But that has been piss poor ABs with the game on the line twice in the last 3 games.

His confidence at the plate is shot recently. Walks are great but he's up there praying to walk because he doesn't wanna hit right now. That's why he goes down looking so much.

Our bullpen gives up too many homers.
Eh im too tired to check HR home vs away for the bullpen, but that is a factor too.

The Bullpen has been very good this year.

This was just the worst game Chapman has pitched this year. Runners getting on base and just the poor pitch selection.

Hopefully they wake up tomorrow. Especially the bats.

It's the injuries that killed him. Major ones too. When he was healthy for the Mets, he was real good. Only played 407 games over 6 seasons with the Mets. But he averaged about 20 homers/60 RBI and a league average OPS if you pro-rate it per 162 games. Had a few 13 homer/45 RBI seasons playing 110 or so games. But sandwiched between seasons of 70 games b/c of injuries.

I'll fault them for a lot, but cutting him loose this year won't be one of them. There's only so many seasons you can rely on him and get burned before you move on.

Yeah I told him try two sliders out of the zone and then come back to the fastball, but he apparently didn't hear me

Not only that, but TDA was basically late on all those away fastballs and barely getting a piece of them. A backdoor slider is an awful idea at that point. Not sure who exactly called for that.

Wonder why they never came inside. Guy throws 100+ and stays on the outer half. Seems infuriating to me.

Just poor scouting reports by the Yankees. And lack of in game adjustments. All the HRs he's hit against them, have been on down away pitches.
Rothschild, not even once.

I have an idea!

Chapman has to throw a fastball there. You dont get beat with your secondary pitch in that situation. If you throw a heater and he hits it out,you tip your cap to him for a great at bat.He already showed in the at bat he was late on his f.b's...throwing that terribly located slider did nothing but speed his bat up.

How much do teams pay for 1 WAR? I often wonder if certain teams find players who just absolutely kill them and think, 'should we just overpay this guy in UFA and then send him to Japan just so we have a better chance of winning 2-3 more games this year because he wont kill us?'

His 2 prior HR off Paxton came off 96MPH fastballs.

3-2 you're probably sitting dead red fastball, plus he got a lot of swing and miss on the slider from the last 2 batters, so it was cooking last night.
