figures Betances loses it while the Cuban missle is back... you can't make this up lol.

True. But I think everyone knows Betances is a ticking time bomb. His mechanics are beyond ****ed this year. Maybe they should trade him this offseason and give Green a bigger role.

They need to give him some time off and tell Rothchild to actually do his job and fix whats broken.

I'm not opposed to moving him and sliding Green into his role/Drob's role next year though.

The victory bonus is from winning the division.

As long as you don't mind a subjective view then sure. And it hasn't happened in a while but relievers have won CYAs (Eckersely even won mvp and cy young). Doesn't matter what us fans think - if the media thinks saves are important then a dominant reliever will be in the mix. Mariano Rivera was in the top 3 4 times in his career.

Media/voters are idiots. You know what a save is? A glorified hold. Saving the game un 6th, 7th or 8th is just as important as 9th. No reliever ever should come close to sniffing CY. There is just no way you can justify giving an award to someone with 90-100 innings of work compared to someone with 200+.

That victory bonus is still stupid. Why does winning a division impact a CY award?

I read that he was still touching 95-96 early on. Wonder what the issue is.

I don't watch Mets games anymore this season , so I don't know.

I'll watch when Syndergaard returns, but besides that, there's not much reason to.

Harvey has more earned runs given up than strikeouts, thats all anyone needs to know.

Unlike most Yankee fans, I'm not ready to just give up on Betances. He wasn't like this the past 3 seasons. Not sure what's going for most of this year, but his mechanics are clearly way off. With his track record, I think Betances will bounce back.

That being said, for at least this season, he should be demoted, and Green/Robertson should be promoted.

I think signs of vulnerability came late in the season last year. He had an awful start to September IIRC.

That was just a bad stretch, imo. Aside from that, he essentially dominated 2016.

Don't forget, he was essentially lights out the first 2 months of this season, somewhere in mid-late June and beyond is when he started to struggle command wise.

It was in the Anaheim series where Carter failed to catch a throw to 1st.

The weird thing is he was practically un hittable in August. What ever he fixed then is broken now and it would be nice if our pitching coach could fix someone for once and our genius manager gave him time to do so, instead of just running him out there and crossing his fingers that Betances figures it out himself.

You know who sucks? Matt Harvey. Matt Harvey ****ing sucks. It's amazing how he went from looking like he'd be a dominant, perennial Cy Young candidate for a decade to this. And even though he's a *********, it's sad. He looks completely done.

Watch though, he's just dogging it so the Mets don't qualify him. Then he'll go somewhere else and suddenly start throwing 98.

The combined Exit Velo for the Twins in this inning is like ****in 17 MPH and they have bases loaded, nobody out.
