I fondly remember the days when a good number of pitchers could actually hit.
Define your definition of a good number because woof, overall they were always bad except, of course, for a few outliers.

For me, I'd rather pitchers spend their time concentrating on what they do best and what got them to MLB rather than a skill, where if they stopped pitching young, they wouldn't have even been looked at in their draft as a viable position player to make it to MLB.

The lack of knowledge is shocking. Many MLB pitchers were some of the best athletes and hitters on their pre-MLB teams.

And yet they couldn't hit for shit in the MLB. Funny how that works.

The nostalgia leading to faulty memories from those who were young fans at the time is, in turn, not shocking....RIP dad.
