It’s as if the #1 thing Cashman looks for in a player is the ability to strike out: Sanchez, Gallo, Donaldson, Wells, Judge, Stanton, Jazz, Verdugo, Volpe. All of the players he targets strike out like crazy. The dynasty Yankees (which Cashman didn’t build) put the ball in play.

This is the same thing the Mets ran into. You have to jump on their starter. If you do not it's a long night at the office.

Considering the amount of runs the Mets gave up to the Dodgers, the Yankees pitching hasn't been bad. This lineup is insane and you kind of expect 4-5 runs against.

The Yankees offense is full of black holes. They have been shut down by just about every starter that they've faced.

I said this from the beginning: When half your lineup is hitting below the Mendoza line, it's very tough to win games. Dodgers' offense is so much deeper than the Yankees. It's been the case all season. Judge's turning into one of the worst postseason players in baseball history is just kicking the team while it's down.

Cole and Rodon were your stopgaps. You can't rely on Schmidt and Gil to win you games. Bullpen actually did a very good job, but the offense continues to be f***ing awful. They can't string together three hits and they cant consistently hit home runs, so they're done. Doesn't help that they're taking meatballs down the middle and swinging at nonsense nowhere near the zone. Everything is going wrong all at once.

Unfortunately, it seems like the bolded is being emphasized less and less. It will be extinct like the hit and run, suicide squeeze and even the sacrifice bunt.

Felt like I was watching the NLCS again. Buehler is a machine.

The "put balls in play" argument is so dumb. The Dodgers struck out more than the Yankees did this year and the NYY's 2 opponents prior to LA had the 2nd fewest and 4th fewest K's in the league.

K's are up overall which is what happens when guys are throwing cutters at 100 mph and have sliders that have insane tilt and break 2+ feet. Thats what the game is now and has been for quite some time.

Guys got cold at the wrong time and the other team has gotten the big hits that they haven't. Thats the bottom line. It's not like the Dodgers and their vaunted offense have been tearing the cover off of the ball in this series.

Boone needs to go, that much is clear as a baseline and Cashman should have been fired years ago but he's got a lifetime contract.
