IMO 5 years was the real sweet spot, but even 4 would be better than this 3 year deal for sure. Is what it is now though.

Between cap crunch, upcoming contracts, and Nuke/Landy uncertainty I totally get this contract.

No doubt his agent understood his impact at 5 on 5. Looking at his point totals, the 57 points don't jump off the page, but 48 even strength points is the key. That puts him ahead of guys like Clayton Keller, Jordan Kyrou, and Nick Suzuki. Also right behind Barkov and Hischier.
