Sadly, it sure looks like they will be running it back. It will be the same song and dance that they tried to move him but could not find a good deal. Expect nothing and you won't be disappointed.

How many f***ing times until management opens their eyes? l'm not betting on much of a Marner improvement under Berube.

Was Drai playing C that year? I have no clue, but sure we can boost his value because of it.

I also assume during negotiations that height rarely comes up unless you know more than the average poster.

Ehlers can be a comparable too, he is another player who signed during that time frame, and his overall body of work is worse than Marner's, so Marner should be making a fair bit more.

Excluding PP points makes Drai's number worse too by the way, so if you are going to do it for Marner, may as well do it for him.

This is also all ignoring linemates and the defensive side of the puck, but if we only go on points up to that point of their career, Marner wins.

PPG at the time of signing (Marner's is at the potential signing time):
Ehlers: 0.66
Draisaitl: 0.72
Marner: 0.81

At the actual time of signing Marner had a 0.93 PPG.

Who is Marner's comparable? You are ignoring their career and going off a single year only. Should we be doing that on July 1st as well?
It would be interesting to compare this 3 guys PPG now

Look at it this way, we can bet on the Leafs losing in the first round and make money.

Kind of like the old joke that my friend been saying about gambling in the casino. Just find out who is keep losing and place opposite bet, that way you chance of winning is high, lol.

Florida Panthers, the Champs, could care less about their 115 point finesse winger that helped them win the presidents trophy.

-We've never been close to that
-They acquired an actual heart and soul player who can be a factor in a elimination game. You saw the pressure get to Huberdeau and affect him

Parallels are there

Uh, because Marner is better? Reinhart has had one good season (albeit a very good one).

Context matters.

Reinhart's stats with Panthers are decent compared to the shit sabres team

And guess what he has something marner would only dream off.... 2 cup appearcances, 1WIN and more importantly... CUP WINNING GOAL!

Pretty much. We can also bet on Ferris milking for every penny. Hopefully Treliving possesses more than half a brain.

Zito says F this shit with Huberdeau who can only produce in regular season and goes into a shell in playoffs. He wanted him gone and got it done!

WINNING CULTURE starts with Management's vision and BALLS to do whats necessary to set the tone for the franchise

The thing is I really don’t think they are getting a deal done. That’s seem to be smokescreen more than anything.
Would Tre really hold firm till after next playoffs?
Would MM really want to bet on himself this coming season?

I really don’t think MM wants to be in Toronto.

I would take Parayko, Thomas and a 1st
So would I but I doubt the Blues are offering that. Can't wait until Monday noon.

I'd even take Brady LMAO
I'd add and light the CN Tower in Sens colours until September to get a deal done. Running it back is punting on next season.
