Mitch Marner, Yet Again

You are very sensitive about this topic, yet you keep dodging the question. If defending Marner is so easy, why avoid it over and over?

Your silence says it all.

Pathetic efforts that even his biggest supporters cant justify.

.. ill continue to remind everyone that you refuse to comment on these plays.

jokes on you.
I don't get it when people who are clearly mad that people are disagreeing with them for being upset about a player they don't like, start claiming everyone they are talking to is sensitive. It's very funny, especially when they're completely oblivious to how easily angered or upset they are.

What was Matthews doing hanging out at the blueline on the first goal?

Not a peep about it right haha? I’ve never been one to care much about how goals are created as long as goals are created.

The only thing he’s ever been right about is the leafs do need to attack the middle of the ice more. It’s easier to create goals from there especially in the playoffs. But that’s the teams as a whole, not just 1 player.

Playoffs only matter. He keeps failing in that area. Nobody cares about this or if he hits 103pts and wants to be paid like 130pts players.

Success or set sail Mitch
If that were true, his detractors wouldn't be bitching every second of the regular season. Seems the regular season doesn't matter when Marner does something good in it, but matters so much that it upsets many of you very badly when he makes a bad play in the regular season.

Come on man. Anbody can see Matthews was skating back because Tampa was carrying the puck out and intercepted the puck at the blue line. He was not playing rover like Marner does. Credit where credit is due but some of the Marner PR crew have vivid imaginations.

The media and anouncers constantly asking about the prospect of Marner hitting 100 points is a reminder of why Toronto isn't a winning sports city. No other serious sports franchise would be talking about this, its why the team has lost so much when it matters.

100 Points is great but it is an arbitrary threshold, this season in particular should be entirely about the team and it seems to be the case based on the players demeanour. I wish the media would stop asking about it. Play the game right way and the results will come to fruition organically. 200 foot hockey is needed to win a Cup. If players hit a milestone great, but win the games that matter.,

You miss the McDavid and Kucherov race to 100 assists?

Two very unserious franchises, I guess.

This is just not true, at all

Did you see the mild amount of attention put on Ovi’s record recently for example?

Dude's whole "life" is Marner. What a world.

Just too funny .....

Fans get upset because players have regular season success like hitting 100 pts.

I mean should we just discredit Gilmour, Leafs 50 goal scorers, Sundin all time point leader, Salming leafs leader in assists?

I mean they all won squat in the playoffs ......I at least remember at my old age the last leaf cup. Should I just praise those players who have a ring?

Why is it so hard to enjoy elite talent we have? Do fans have all their panties in a bunch because of the lack of playoff success? What is that anyways? The goal posts constantly get moved. 1 or 2 series wins? maybe 3?
is that the barometer? I thought it was all about Lord Stanley? I mean thats the players goal ....ask McDavid if he was happy to just make it to the finals.

I enjoyed having Marner here and hopefully he resigns with us because he is just a wonderful talent to watch and you can never have enough great players on your team.

He was offered a NMC just like Tre offered it to 34 and 88. He isnt obligated to waive it or give the leafs a home town discount etc. Fans whined that they "could" force Marner to be traded. How did that work out?
GM's are not stupid all the time. Respect works both ways.

You mean backchecking lol...? Marner again benefitting from Knies and Matthews hard work to strip Tampa of the puck.

He put Hedman in a blender for sure but I liked his clapper in the slot against Florida last week a little better. Marner is finding ways to get close and score. We need 3-5 goals out of him in the first round!
Do you even watch the games? That was not Hedman lol.

McDonagh, who is their other top 2/3 D (20+mins a night), still impressive.

You seriously can't give the kid any credit at all, eh? He made a great move off of a great turnover created by Matthews/Knies. Isn't that how a line is suppose to work?

That was 2 nice goals. Capitalized on turnovers and made them pay. If Marner can continue to get in those positions on the ice he will be rewarded. Knies and Matthews will dig the pucks out

I don't follow other teams closely so I for one did miss that. Anyhow, TB has had a ton of playoff success, EDM almost won the cup last year so I think that's a bit different. I agree with what he said:

100 Points is great but it is an arbitrary threshold, this season in particular should be enirely about the team

We're 1-8 in playoff series, changing that should be 100% where the focus is. Not a big deal maybe but I totally get where the poster is coming from.

What Ovi's doing is big news across the entire hockey world, that's a bit different (actually much different).

100 points is something done by a number of NHL players every year and as he said, it's an arbitrary number so it seems silly to make such a big deal out of it. He's having a great season and I think that's true whether he hits 100 or not. The real season starts very soon, how he performs there is 1000 times more important than him hitting some arbitrary regular season number.

They played so well last night, what a contrast from the night before and that goes for all three of them.

Were they asked questions from.their local media every day? Furthermore 100 points.has been achieved countless times in NHL history. There have been two interesting chases in Toronto, Matthews chase of Vaives record and 60/70 goal plateaus. Marners point streak was interesting too. All were distractions for the team.

Sure players want to hit goals but media need not ask about it repeatedly. Win a Cup and ask about preparedness for the playoffs, where they feel their game is at, how the team is feeling etc. There is not I in team and the real battle starts soon

Marner kind of responded in that way too. Like why are you asking me about this. The reporters in Toronto ask some of the dumbest questions or mind numbingly boring
