To be clear, I think he is very talented, but I don't think he is 13 mil worthy. At 8-9, give'er. It's like Having a Lambo in Toronto - you cant drive it in the snow or on most streets (because our roads are garbage) you can't really achieve the full fun factor of the Lambo unless you take it to the track. I blame the salary cap, because otherwise noone here would ever give a shit what he makes.
Sure on salary, but you actually came here to say he didn't do anything special last night? I mean. His coach recognized he was quite effective and moved him to get McJesus going, what more of an endorsement do you want? He was special last night, period, full stop. It's okay to admit and still think our cap structure is a farce. It wasn't April last night, you're right, it was June actually and he showed up big time. Loved the poise, down a goal, he delivers, ditto OT.

Great to see some great hockey. Getting rid of the goons sure makes hockey enjoyable. The game is much better watch when the likes of Reaves , and their likes that offer no skill but take advantage of the rules change that happen in playoffs like crosschecking and interference being ignored are not in a game like this. It was fast and skilled. Fun series.

This is what hocky should look like. Let the stars shine as they are supposed too like every other professional sports.

I thought Marner played really well and Mathews line had chances but Auston looks off like he has most of the year. I think its his back or hip causing his issues ....seems like he skates like in quicksand

Great win for Canada

The one question reporters should have asked Mitch post-game: So, did you feel more pressure trying to win for Canada or for the Maple Leafs?

Could be interesting the dynamic between Marner and Matthews going forward .
Probably nothing but Matthews sure looked like a sulky little Bit#ch in the handshake line
Sure, his team just missed out on gold. He was the goals for USA. Binnington robbed him in OT and it was his blown coverage on the OT goal.

He didn't have to worry about being checked. It was really subdued. Good game no doubt but really I expected more after MTL.

Marner did have a great game but the scenario was flipped. It wasn't the hard hitting passionate playoff game we thought. It was a very tight game with limited checking and little passion vs MTL game

That kind of game happens too and it was high level.

I am not sold he can do it when two teams hate each other and come out like they mean it
I predicted this nonsense. I just thought it would take a couple of days.

It's really sad tbh. At least a few here have been man enough to give credit when it's due. Some have too much pride to ever be wrong.
The crow eating is funny too: "Four Nations will suck", "Binnington sucks", etc.

Pride? Maybe. Foolishness and constantly bathing in negatively? Yes.

Lmao. Binnington played very well. So did Marner. You might want to reflect on why you are only able to give one of them credit.
They both had major impact on victory.
Without a doubt Mitchy did what he does best, peel off into a safe open space. When it works, it's beautiful, but he doesn't have the other side of the game to go to the net, the hard side of the game. Doesn't mean he isn't a very good valuable player, the question has always been, value vs money. He and dad have priced him in a zone where most people say he doesn't belong. Next contract, at 12m, he is a hero, a guy you need and want. At 14.5...goodbye.
If Knies demands 10.5 next deal, same issue, he has the tough side of the game but not as much intuitive side. Suddenly fans will change their mind, and he doesn't gave his daddy involved publically.

When you have zero credibility, what is there to lose? At least some of the other goons have gone silent.
Truth. Though it wasn't that poster who would lead the way if that is the proper terminology.

He did. Came up big when the stakes were highest. Now only if he can do it in the first round.

Good game but I gotta see playoff wins. Hope no contract issued until they go deep and they better go freaking deep this year
