Tavares willy and matthews all sucked as bad as Mitch but he is the whipping boy.

He's a 3C come playoffs playing with Nylander who is nearly a ppg since hes been here.

I don't know if he and Jordan Staal are that much different come playoffs, JT just gets PP1 + Nylander.

Personally don't want tavares back in any capacity. He is the worst of the core 4, and was the worst over the past 7 years whilst making the 2nd most throughout most of the time here. His best season is Matthews and Marner's worst during that time and an average Nylander season.

We overpaid Matthews who sucked in the playoffs probably due to an injury but you are OK to give Marner who sucked in the playoffs but was healthy more than Matthews? Brilliant.

We never should have drafted Marner, it was supposed to be McDavid. So let the Final Destination happen and replace Mitch with the chosen one.

Out of the core 4, he works the second hardest on the ice, after JT (funny how these two are the most hated, but they also make the stupidest/most invisible plays), yet off the ice marner has been lacking compared to the others

Marner hasn't changed his style even though he knows it directly leads to his criticisms and hate

nylander for all his warts put on a lot of muscle and changed his style to be a bit more direct and less curl back than 16-17, 17-18 and 18-19. It's too bad he decides to not use it 50% of the time.

Matthews added one-timers, and tips to his arsenal over the years. Too bad he forgets it all come playoffs.

They all lack the extra gear it takes to be great.

When Matthews has been hurt, Marner carried the team. He can play without Marner. Also, Matthews for his first 3 seasons played exclusively with Nylander where Marner played with Tavares. At that time both lines were humming and they were both threats when ever on the ice. Matthews was able to score 40, 37 and 34 without Marner. His last 2 seasons he played 62 and 68 games or he would have surpassed 40 goals those seasons.

I think Matthews will be perfectly fine without Marner. With the progression of Knies it may have the possibility of being better then with Marner. Find a couple of wingers for the top 6 that can chip in offensively and bring size to the table and this team will not miss Marner at all.

Matthews will carry the team without Marner wanting the spotlight all the time. My bet is if you put Marner on any other team he doesnt get 80pts a season. Thats a bet I am willing to take if anyone is willing.
