Everyone worries about us without Marner. How would Marner feel leaving and we retooled and won the Cup? Good times.
The numbers some are suggesting for Marner seem ridiculous to me. He most likely won't score 25 goals next year and if is not getting his empty calorie assists on the PP, he's not getting 100 points. He's not even worth the Nylander overpay.
Sorry, offer him $1 and pay for his Uber to the airport.
My office is on University so if the Leafs win i would generously offer Mitch a seat by the window so he could waive to his ex-teammates.Everyone worries about us without Marner. How would Marner feel leaving and we retooled and won the Cup? Good times.
no team is gonna give up much of anything for a pending UFA, if he was an RFA its a whole different ball game. They might as well wait and try to get him for 7 years at a slightly higher cap hitQuestion as I know nothing about the regs and policies of FAs. If and when Marner signs what is the max years? I heard 7 from another team and 8 from TO? If that is right any chance they sign and trade him?
I am having a hard time understanding how he would reject 13.5?I find the $15.5M borderline impossible to believe. I understand that when negotiating you start apart and meet somewhere in the middle, but that number is so obscene that it's either not true or a no-so-subtle-I'm-not-reupping-here message.
Toronto is number 1
I think Toronto is 32, given people threatened to kill his newborn and posted his address after game 7.Toronto is number 1
unless marner wants to move his neewborn to southsdie chigcagio
Yummy.Sydney Sweeney is on my wish list, along with Blake Lively.
I don’t like those odds.
I don't think that's true. I think there are lots of us who are looking forward to the team without Marner.Everyone worries about us without Marner. How would Marner feel leaving and we retooled and won the Cup? Good times.
we'll see how happy fans are without him halfway through the season !I don't think that's true. I think there are lots of us who are looking forward to the team without Marner.
Gonna be a long year for you if Marner walks and they sign Tavares. Regular season is meaningless. We just saw the Panthers mail in the last 10-15 games and are now a win away from their 3rd SCF. The winners of both conferences are golfing as we speak. Serious teams show up when it counts. Mitch shows up on July 1 to collect his bonus money.we'll see how happy fans are without him halfway through the season !
They'll have already moved on to the next whipping boy.we'll see how happy fans are without him halfway through the season !
Why would the Leafs offer him 13.5, and why would Marner turn that down - both excellent questions.I am having a hard time understanding how he would reject 13.5?
Also why the Leafs would offer that?
Spooked by the Rantanen situation?
I read somewhere that the Leafs are inviting Marner to a meeting, and it sounds like the purpose of it is to find out if there's any chance he'll stay. Sounds like they'll be on their knees begging like I predicted not long ago, absolutely disgusting. We are fans of a franchise where pride is a foreign concept, so sad.
My concern now is that the Leafs are going to overpay for this years UFA's.Why would the Leafs offer him 13.5, and why would Marner turn that down - both excellent questions.
I still have a hard time believing that this actually happened but if it did, the mind boggles.

IMO Leafs offer of $13.5m is legit. Most likely he turned it down because he wants out due to the heat he has been getting for the lack of playoff success. Only other reason is that he is dilutional and thinks he is worth $14+m.Why would the Leafs offer him 13.5, and why would Marner turn that down - both excellent questions.

Leafs totally fumbled the ball like they usually do.My concern now is that the Leafs are going to overpay for this years UFA's.
They look ridiculous for not handling this Marner situation better, and for numerous other reasons.
Regardless if you believe Marner should go, letting someone of his calibre walk away for nothing is awful.
you're right about this , we should do a pollThey'll have already moved on to the next whipping boy.
This fanbase is nothing if not predictable.
Nobody is saying they "have" to sign Tavares. Odds are the Leafs will because they are the Leafs.i love this logic
regular season is meaningless but we have to sign Tavares , i guess Tre has to find him first since he was invisible in the playoffs , AGAIN !
