Nintendo Switch #5

This game is continuing to destroy me... Its so hard.

How did kids beat this back in the day?
It may be the hardest game ever, don't feel bad, but it is possible to beat. It's one of those things where you may come back to the game a month or two later and find you somehow improved.

I've ended up replaying No Man's Sky Switch 2 edition because I'm shocked at how well it runs. I mentioned it earlier in the thread but I also have a Rog Ally X and that was a game I could never get to run right on that system regardless of what video settings I used. There was always an issue with FPS slowdowns if I used my jetpack which rendered the game almost unplayable.

Maybe with the Switch 2 update it will work better on the handheld PCs but I'm blown away by how well it runs. The only time I noticed serious FPS fall off was on a planet that had to render a lot of gas effects, with a lot of alien animals, and if I was sprinting/jet packing and the planet still functioned, it was just obvious the Switch 2 was struggling more than on other locations.

The graphics and smoothness isn't as high as say, a PS5 or a high end gaming PC, but the experience is way better than the original switch. I bought it when it was on sale for more than half off, and you get the Switch 2 upgrade for free if you already owned the game.

DK looks solid, probably wouldn't pick it up later in the console cycle but with it being the main game for the Switch 2 this summer I will likely check it out.

Of the already announced 2025 games besides DK, I’m looking forward to Kirby Air Riders and Metroid Prime 4. Never played a Kirby game but it’s directed by Sakurai so I’m in. And Metroid seems like a great chance to use the mouse controls.

I was able to pick one up last week when Best Buy had a bit of stock pop up available online, enjoying the new Mario Kart, and appreciate the fact that the updates for TOTK and BOTW are free if you are an online + expansion pass subscriber so I may actually give one or both of them another shot at some point

My only gripe or disappointment is that it would have been nice if the joycon controller grip that was included with the system had a charging port, as someone who plays about 99% of the time docked on the TV, it will probably be something I will be on the hunt for sooner rather than later

I picked up Bravely Default because I wanted a Switch 2 game that wasn't Mario Kart lol. Only played a couple hours but definitely big Final Fantasy 5 vibes. Think I'll like it.
