Vegas and Casino jobs for all.Pretty sure Marner will want to ONLY goto a contending team.
Could well be the case, and then we're probably screwed. Would be hilarious if he insisted on moving to a contender, nobody wanted him so he stays in Toronto, then becomes UFA next summer and finds that there isn't a single contender out there who is willing to meet his contract demands.Pretty sure Marner will want to ONLY goto a contending team.
Think so too, but it will be fascinating to see how much he prioritizes money on his next deal vs the chance to win.Pretty sure Marner will want to ONLY goto a contending team.
Either Oates was repeating hearsay or he talked with Mitchy’s gang……I’m going with the latter until we know more.Mitch throwing his gloves mid-game because he's worried about what the newspaper will print is one of the dumber takes I've heard
In the past he hasn’t indicated a winning culture was a priority. In fact on locker clean out day he said he wanted to stay in Toronto.Pretty sure Marner will want to ONLY goto a contending team.
Won't be Carolina, they don't pay players big contractsNow which contender wants to pull the trigger? His playoff resumé pretty much speaks for itself.
Most hockey players these days prioritize:
In that order. If someone is offering 100M and they are a 2nd tier contender, 99% of players are taking that deal rather than 90M from a 1st tier contender. Especially at Marner's age where he has a lot of hockey to play. Discounts to play for the top teams come later in the career. Players will want to secure the bag.
- Maximizing career earnings
- Winning
Thus, if Nashville is offering what he wants, pretty likely it's a strong consideration.
Also, Nashville is a phenomenal city for us ordinary folks. I can imagine it would be a hell of a place to live if you have that kind of money. Most hockey players these days prioritize:

Players that are looking to earn those type of dollars are also confident enough that they think they can be the difference in winning. Most hockey players these days prioritize:

If only Marner showed as much confidence on the ice in the playoffs as his dad shows off the ice ...Players that are looking to earn those type of dollars are also confident enough that they think they can be the difference in winning.
They can make the 2nd tier contender a first tier one.
Hard to imagine there won't be at least ONE who is thinking the exact same thing that Toronto spend the past several years thinking - "he's simply too good and HAS to eventually figure this out".Now which contender wants to pull the trigger? His playoff resumé pretty much speaks for itself.
There will be many suitors.Hard to imagine there won't be at least ONE who is thinking the exact same thing that Toronto spend the past several years thinking - "he's simply too good and HAS to eventually figure this out".
All it takes is one. He's young enough that someone will want to take that gamble.
its actually better than many players...Now which contender wants to pull the trigger? His playoff resumé pretty much speaks for itself.
the core wasnt really 'broken', our defense was just bad, and a complete non threat to score, so, its easier to defend against our core 4 when you know the D cant hurt you. There will be many suitors.
Look at the people here. They want to keep the core because they think a new coach can fix them. A new GM can fix them.
There is always an organization that thinks the same. We can fix them.
A guy who I think should be a candidate for head coach is Adam Oates (I get that he won't), giving his support to Mitch.
Interesting, and he certainly doesn't hold back on Willie.

The Overdrive guys tore this thing apart yesterday, saying it reeks of the Marner camp trying to control the narrative & get the word out about what actually happened etc.
Noodles pointed out that Oates does a lot of skills development work with individual players throughout the year and in the off-season, so it's entirely possible that the Marner camp knows him and tried to feed him some chatter points as a means of defense.
Nice to see Willy can be innocent and still get blamed. The Overdrive guys tore this thing apart yesterday, saying it reeks of the Marner camp trying to control the narrative & get the word out about what actually happened etc.

I wouldn't put past them wanting to get some favorable PR.The Overdrive guys tore this thing apart yesterday, saying it reeks of the Marner camp trying to control the narrative & get the word out about what actually happened etc.
