Marner is the much better player with much higher value. Not sure this a debate.Marner's value is quite a bit more than Brock's.

Vancouver isn't even in a playoff spot. They are a fringe team. His bloated salary kind of hurts his value though doesn’t it? Not being a C also doesn’t help. Nor does his disappointing playoffs. Vancouver was just in the playoffs and won a round. Overpaying for a guy who doesn’t help them take that next step isn’t going to be appealing for them. But there are fringe teams who would very much be happy with at least making the playoffs who probably view him differently. Buffalo, Detroit,...you can probably think of a few others. Those are the teams that this conversation should be about.

Vancouver has been a fringe team going back a few years what are you going on about? They had a fluke PDO year last year and missed the playoffs the 3 years prior. Nothing I said was inconsequential or petty. Vancouver isn't a regular playoff contender.I would have thought the examples I cited would be enough for you to make the inference that I was more so referring to fringe teams going back several/a few years.
And if Vancouver strings together some wins, should I come back to your comment to rub it in your face? Is that what you want by making this inconsequential and petty reply?
Not sure why this thread was bumped. It was a ridiculous, maybe potched, proposal when it was posted a couple weeks ago.Marner is the much better player with much higher value. Not sure this a debate.
...except Rounds played in the Playoffs...
I get what you are attempting to say, but you failed miserably doing so. Marner has played in 9 rounds of playoff hockey, Boeser has played in 5.
It's also not relevant. Boeser was the 5th best for his team in points for 2020 covid bubble.
Ryan Reaves has more series than both these guys, is he the best? What does playoff games have to do with an individual player?...the reference was to the Playoff Rounds themselves:
Marner:
1st Round - 8 times
2nd Round - 1 time
Boeser:
1st Round - 2 times
2nd Round - 2 times
3rd Round - 1 time
