Marner was awful first 2 and a half periods. He had about 3 or 4 shifts in the 3rd that were pretty damn good. Threw a grown man body check, looked angry, went to the net. Please someone tell these 3 clowns, this effort is required each and every game in the postseason.

You better if you can't score, are a small soft winger and want Matthews/Draisaitl money. Hat trick vs Wings, breakaway on Jarry and empty netter vs Bruins in last 24 games. 17 goal pace. One goal better than his playoff pace.

Did you post that as a reminder for yourself or others?

Back to Marner, thought he played well. Wasn’t anything special but was involved in 3 of the goals. Matthews PP goal starts with him throwing the puck on net and generating a good rebound in traffic. Kind of what we’ve been needing on the PP. 2nd Matthews goal was a good simple play on the boards and then absorbs the hit to create a lane for Matthews and Matthews does the rest. Nylander goal was on the tape and caught NJ sleeping. Not flashy plays but effective plays that creating scoring opportunities.

I do want him scoring more goals and shooting more. 1 SOG isn’t great, but he made good plays tonight that contributed to the win. Not sure what more you can ask for from all the big guys? Unless I’m missing something.
matthews goal on the rebound was on a nylander shot from the point, the other assist went to mcmann if i recall ... marner had 2 points, the pass on the boards to auston and the pinpoint to nylander in o/t

yes it is irrational and I've never understood it, i don't know why we are shitting on a guy for making good simple plays. If it was so easy, bobby mcmann and all our other 3rd and 4th liners would be just as good as Marner. There's a reason those guys aren't up with Matthews and not getting looks with Matthews, they can't make the plays that Nylander and Marner can make on a nightly basis.

That being said, I really wanna see Domi with Matthews!! Domi was awesome last night, put him with good players.
Why is it, that as soon as one player has a good game next to Nylander and Nylander scores etc, he needs to be taken away from Nylanders line?

I mean sure when you look at the stats and usage etc it's hard to argue that MM isn't worth his current salary of 25m a year but when you think about what he had to do to secure that bag, the CBA re-negotiations, the split with the union, 20% of the PA losing their jobs, losing those teams to contraction, you have to ask, was it all worth it? and it turns out the answer is yes, absolutely it was, for a player of this calibre

He is good at racking up assists in the regular season, people should acknowledge that at least!

It’s pretty amazing that an NHL player making $11 million dollars can make a pass through no defenders on 3v3 hockey. Simply mindblowing stuff
Come on, you weren't mesmerized by his incredible drop pass at the Jersey blueline that led to Matthews goal?

You are criticizing others meanwhile your crediting Marner with plays that Nylander made?

I mean, he had an OK game. Lets not act like he was doing what Willy, Matthews, and Domi did in terms of intensity. It was nice to see them play like they were pissed off for once this calendar year.

cringe level

What is cringe?

I see a 4.5 million stay at home defenseman McCabe catching the clearing attempt, and quickly threading the no look tape to tape to tape pass to Marner. Nice clip to highlight Mccabe whose generally a stay at home defenders, not known for his offense showing his amazing vision and passing.

I'm not going to counter-troll you.

What were you calling cringe? Or was the point of you posting the video to highlight McCabes incredible play?
