Anytime your putting a 20 something million dollar pair together they better be amazing or they shouldn’t be together that goes for all of them
Most teams put together a 20 something million dollar line, and Matthews and Marner together have combined with a variety of cheap 3rds to be one of the best lines in the league.

That we’re paying too much for shouldn’t need two of them on a line together when there’s depth issues spread them out and let them show their value

We're not paying too much. They show their value together too. We don't need both of them on a line together, but it's a great option.

I'd take any player on that list over Marner except for Panarin, and only because of age.
Regular season, it's more interesting as regular season Marner is quite good. Playoffs though, Panarin is the only one where I stop and think for a moment, you'd have to be a complete moron to take Marner over anyone else on that list for the playoffs.

I believe Marner has 7 points in his last 15 playoff games, something like that anyway. First four games against TB in 2023 I think he had 9 points, then he dropped off the face of the earth. Playoff Marner has a lot to prove IMO and until he does, any Leaf fans wanting to commit to him for another long term deal are either extremely naive, or they just don't care about the playoffs.

According to Mirtle the dummies at the cash box are willing to make him one of the top 6 or 7 paid players in the league but the hometown boy who wants to be a Leaf wants more. And they wonder why they have not sniffed round #3 in 2 decades or a SCF in almost 6. Wow.

Leafs core are proven winners in the profit making business can't win in the playoffs whatever

There has to be a number even the uber fans of Marner say no to right? It seems like he's asking for just under Matthews money. 13.25 mil, I'd puke.

He hasn't exceeded or gotten better as a player since 2018 when he put up 25 goals and 90 points. Had his best playoffs in 2018 too against Boston.

It's not like Marner has 2 Rockets or a Hart.

I mean he's .92% compared to Nylander's .94%. Do the last 3 years and I bet he climbs quickly being at 1.00%.
That’s great I guess. But I’m not happy with any of the Leafs on that list. Mostly due to the fact they can’t get past the first round.
