Surprise surprise, you do this after one of Nylander's best games. When was the last time you did this after one of his worst, or one of Marner's best? Such a clown.

People keep repeating it and it gets quotes. An overpay for Marner is in the algorithm. Listen to Kyper shill and people here that couldn't possibly believe that Marner is worth more than say Mckinnon. It's actually amazing the narrative driving like this is successful enough to make some people believe and GMs like Dubas sign.

Shocking it is not, when media conglomerates that own an NHL team hire NHL union representatives to go on National television and spew nonsense like Kyper paving the way for overpays. ODog is the opposite, he calls out the BS, he is the best by far.

I mean I wish I was a majority shareholder and could just waltz in there and blast the living shit out of these incompetent corporate idiots. There is no mystery why we pay some of the highest for Telcom in the world and the two biggest perps need govt grants for everything.

Honestly posts like this, clearly demonstrate why the NHL is such a shit entity. The NHL cap is too restrictive and it honestly ruins the fan experience. The fans should not care this much about the salary cap. The NHL is the only league where the fans care so much about each players salary to this extent. It’s not like this in the NBA, it’s not like this in the NFL and it’s not like this in pro soccer. No body cares about what people make that much.

Cannot wait for the next CBA to just blow the cap wide open so we can all just shut up about the cap. I do agree with some of the sentiments of the players. Comparatively to their athlete counter parts they are severely underpaid. NHL star players are making less than a bench warmer in the NBA. That isn’t right. But the cap as constructed it’s unreasonable for teams to even entertain paying players like that.

This morning Kyper talking $13.8m and saying if Leafs do not pay, somebody else will. Great let somebody else pay him. I do not get the talk of the cap rising to $100m at which point, $13.8m will look like a bargain. Yeah, that was the same thinking that f***ed Dubas on his way to cashing in on betting everything on the 3 amigos. If the cap does rise to $100m, there is another greedy amigo who will be in line to take most of the increase.

He also knows that the ways in which Marner and Nylander provide impact differ, and so he skews to individual shot-based metrics to flatter Nylander.
Marner had a 79.73 xGF% at 5v5 in this game. And that wasn't even where he got his 2 primary assists.

Ignore is your friend button there. Who cares, except a shrink maybe.
Different points of view don’t bother me, no matter how bad the take is. I do have about a dozen on ignore but only because they have been absolutely rude, so over 15years it’s only about 1 a year that get there, A couple of them were not even rude to me but the crap they poured on someone else was enough. lol,

Nylander was excellent last night, he doesn't need to be boosted up. I thought Tavares was excellent as well.

IMO, Marners was good last night like many others. His biggest contribution was on the special teams.

13.8mil is an absolute steal. I'd go up to and including 16.75mil. Anything above that and we're in jeopardy of not being able to lock Tavares in for a high number.

He was all over the ice yesterday

More of that plz
He pretty much is every night. His play just seems a little more direct now, which IMO is the Berube affect, and with Matthews away he's not constantly on the lookout for 34. I always thought that he and Tavares were a good match, like to see them stick together.

FYI

Who is doing the stealing in your post?

$13.8 mil is more than Matthews at $13.25 mil. Willing to pay him more then the best GOAL SCORER in the game seems outlandish for a player never even recorded a 100 point season.

When it comes to playoff goal scoring Marner is NOT even in the TOP 100 players (during his 8 year career)

It's pure insanity. Everyone knows the US financial data is off cooked books. These companies don't do research? I am sure 95 IQ Kyper does not. Heck there have been war escalations with Russia in the last 48hrs. Undersea internet cable cut to Finland.

Due diligence much? 13.8 is hilarious.

My guess is this year will be different if the Leafs are healthy in the playoffs.

The Little m cannot make space, he cannot drive though defense, but we saw an example last night what the team can do if the next crop of players are in the line-up.

While McMann isn't a kid, he was certainly missed the past playoffs. If Knies, McMann, Grebenkin are in the line-up space will be created, or these 3 will drive through the checking and be able to take advantage of the playmaking ability of marner.

What would be even better is if Matthews is on another line and marner doesn't castrate his game looking for 34.

Not comparing any Leafs player to Gretzky, but Gretzky never won a Cup without Messier. Even Gretz needed help, and that help was Messier and Fraser.

...

That was an olde tyme game last night, and the good guys came out on top.

Here is Mitch Marner's Playoff Goal Scoring results (throughout his entire 8 year career in comparison to the rest of the NHL).

These are all the 11 playoff goal scorers in the past 8 playoff seasons combined where Marner sits 117th.

8 playoff years and 9 playoff series and a pitiful 11 playoff goals. Marner averages about 1 goal every playoff series.

What ever happened to those insightful plus/minus projections, calculator broke?

Pro tip, next time remove the assists, total points and p/gp columns for full affect.

Congrats Mitch, moving up the scoring ladder tied for 4th in assists, thankfully you played most of the games with Mathews. We know his 3 goals pulled you up from oblivion. 10th in total points, not too shabby at all.
10th in total points, 23rd in ES points, tied with 34 others at 66th in 5on5 points, and (among the 336 forwards with 15+ games) he's tied for 117th in per60.

And moving down the 5v5 points per 60 scoring ladder at the same time. (1.94 p/60) Down to 131st in the league for forwards who have played over 100 mins. 1.94 is a long ways from the p/60 he gets with Matthews traditionally.
