Missing Posters

You're telling me! I got challenged to a couple fistfights..."Meet me in the parking lot of the NH Liquor Store!"

Later

dude, the only thing wrong with your analysis immediately after we won the cup was that it was immediately after we won the cup. Looking back the content was dead on. I and many others were too deep in our stanley cup hangover to see it at the time.

Was I at least on point with my ill-timed assessment?

As for me...I miss the board. That's on me, because I come and go. I don't think that their is any one reason for that. Its a number of things. Life happens. Work, coaching, family health issues. My wife having a heart attack at age 44, was a rough one, and an eye opener. Some of it is the whining, and the lack of tolerance for opinions.

I wasn't always the easiest poster to get along with. But I respected virtually every poster here.

I miss Black Eye. I loved that guy and his posts. The board took a big hit, IHMO, when he stopped posting. I think my posting decline did coincide with his leaving. I don't think I ever had even the slightest argument with him. Total class act.

Wally, Bruwinz37, nugs, DKH, WhamBam, MeisterBruinMaker, DC. So many great people here. HockeyGoddess, Lady Riahn, doubleminor138, NightSlyer, Stock Rocks, doakacola, Rick Middleton, Hub of Hockey.

I loved Mick as well.

I always tend to come back, with intentions of sticking around. But then life...ya know?

What did you post?

Pretty sure that it was about the team being on the verge of paying the piper when new contracts needed to be signed by a team full of young kids who overachieved on one great Cup run.

Probably pointed out Seguin and wrongly expressed my thoughts on him.

My problem was that I never really concerned myself with avoiding confrontation, and never had the greatest of timing, with some posts.

i don't remember the specifics because I was spending most of my HF time then following the awesomely awesome Sooshi thread "where's the cup?", but it was basically "X, Y, and Z could have been handled better....there was a lot of dumb luck involved....etc". But it was the viciousness of the replies that struck me. I wasn't one of the ones frothing at the mouth but I definitely remember thinking to myself whenever anyone had even the least bit of critical thought "hey just shut up and have another drink". Can't blame Jeff for telling us all "Later", and never coming back.

Easily one of the worst periods of time here for interesting discussion was right after the cup and through the next season. You couldn't say anything even close to critical without at least 20 people telling you they won the cup so you're wrong. It was insufferable. No good debate, no good discussion. Just I win the argument because they won a cup, so ****...

Sorry to hear about your wife (yikes 44) and nice to see you posting. My boss (50 years old) just had a heart attack and he was the thin healthy one in the office. He is going for a triple bypass by Monday.

Sooner is better than later...

Good to 'see' you man. Sorry about your Bride. Scary stuff. I had one at 50 and still dont believe it but they say its so.

Yeah, we had some wild and fun times back in the day. We were the biggest dysfunctional family there was but family none the less.
BlackEye is doing fine. So is Meister. I never could locate Stock Rocks (Rob) again. I really enjoyed his take on things.
Anyway, glad you dropped by.

But, at least when you were wrong you admitted it and your opinions were sincere and not agenda driven.

I remember so many disagreements between us, but it never got personal. Which isn't always the case lately.

Pretty similar to right now. Any positive thinking and you are called stupid and blind for not seeing what is front of you.

You've always been a class act. I respect the hell out of you for ALWAYS supporting your opinion with some sort of evidence. Its always been crystal clear that you know the game, and the history of the Bruins. Debating various issues with you, always made me have to think and be prepared.

That doesn't happen frequently enough.

Good to hear from you!

How true! This was hands down, the best sports board around. As you said...one great big dysfunctional family.

God, I remember when we tried putting together this league of some sort. We drafted prospects, on the board, and it took FOREVER to get one round done! I still remember that I took Hugh Jessiman, Alexander Picard, and AJ Thelen with some of my first 2 picks! I cant for the life of me, remember who got that started up. But it was fun.

I always appreciated the mods...though Hockey Goddess DID ban me for a bit. I was whiny about it, but I DID bring it upon myself!

Most of the times when I lurk, I really just look to see who is posting. I think that actually kind of started, BEFORE I kind of checked out. I love the Bruins, as do most of us, and I LOVE to debate pretty much any hockey issue. But to me, this place became more about the PEOPLE, than the content and posts. That's what I miss the most when I take time away.

That's not a bad thing.
