Best part about Fistric is he is a body that allows another D to be traded.

If Fistric didn't have two years left on his deal I might want him.

At $1.2 million it isn't bad. He's serviceable for that price to be a bottom pair/7th defenseman if needed. He could also be traded at a later time as well if he plays well. Also, without CapGeek I can't verify this, but I believe there would be no harm in burying him in minors. Could be wrong on that though.

I'm not sure why I thought it was a good idea to step foot in the Main Boards. I must have thought they'd be saying good things about the Flyers. Maybe how they were entertaining.

Instead I see a several page long *****-fest about Jake Voracek is cheap/goonish/etc for sticking up for himself b/c he fought after a clean hit.

GTFO HFers. I'm for less fighting in the game, but the player should ALWAYS be allowed to stick up for themselves if they feel the need. Clean hit or not, Jake felt the need to send a message.

quite simply, hockey fans have turned into a bunch of *******. it gets said a lot, but it's true, at least in regards to this site. everyone loves to stand on some moral high ground. it ****ing sickens me.

if people want to bash rinaldo for what he did, have at it. it was a bad hit, no doubt. dont cry though when a willing combatant gets his ass handed to him.

Couldn't agree more. I can't stand these people pontificating about how bad X or Y is for the sport. Fighting is a big part of the game, as are big hits (legal and illegal). Some times things get carried away. Bad hits get thrown, guys get beaten up. Some times people even get injured (gasp!). But it is a part of the sport. Olde Tyme Hockey!

It's true , as a hockey site and fans in general too many people have grown soft with the sport. It's mostly because the people on here on from the post lockout years where they really never saw teams put everything on the line for their players like they used to in the past. Now all people want to see is finesse players and skill but you still see coaches and GM's value gritty players like Simmonds so highly because they are willing to go to the dirty areas to score. You have to find special players like Giroux, Voracek, Crosby and other who are willing to step into those high traffic areas and put their bodies on the line to get a goal. That's why Taylor Hall isn't valued like people on these boards want him to be, because he isn't that type of player.

Hall's, Eberle's, Kessel's, it's those types of players you can't win with as the main piece. They are the best complimentary players in the game but are not going to carry a team to a stanley cup. We have two forwards who are willing, the defense is just an absolute disgrace. People do not want to get into free agency madness but if Boychuk is there, I would be more than willing to go hard after him. One player plus Morin or Ghost on our back end could prove to be a major upgrade over the crap we have back there now.

Mike Santorelli might be a good option for the Flyers to look at this upcoming offseason. I believe he is a free agent and would look good on the third/second line with Couts and Read.
