Can someone walk me through the Roman Cechmanek Flyers era? I was pretty young but don't recall the whole fall out.

His numbers look great on paper though!

Looked like Mr Bean, great regular seasons, flakey post seasons, called out his teammates and then they used his head for target practice in practice.

Traded to LA soon after the Flyers lost 4-2 to Ottawa in the 2003 second round. This was between games 1 and 2 of the SC Finals, so they were very eager to get rid of him.

It's complicated. He's a huge weirdo. His performance did drop in the playoffs despite being a rock in the season. He still gets scapegoated harder than he should be, though. It's not his fault the team scored something like 1 or 2 goals against Ottawa at most per game.

A technically solid, big goaltender. Very weird dude.

Teammates called him out publicly for dogging it in the playoffs when the paychques stopped coming in. It didn't really reflect in his on ice performances, but was seemingly noticeable to his teammates in his attitude and demeanor. They didnt seem to trust him when the chips were down.

Unfairly or not, I will always remember this first when his name comes up (probably because it was against the Leafs and I hated him for it at the time):

Im disappointed to see so little Cechmanek videos on YouTube. Guess the ease of recording and uploading videos was right before his time
