They’d be turned to dust.Phil Kessel is the refutation for every "those 70s guys never could have survived in today's NHL" argument.
They’d be turned to dust.
Unathletic bus drivers and janitors.
Would score 400 points per year in the 70sPhil Kessel

#cultureLooked like Mr Bean, great regular seasons, flakey post seasons, called out his teammates and then they used his head for target practice in practice.
Traded to LA soon after the Flyers lost 4-2 to Ottawa in the 2003 second round. This was between games 1 and 2 of the SC Finals, so they were very eager to get rid of him.

Can someone walk me through the Roman Cechmanek Flyers era? I was pretty young but don't recall the whole fall out.
His numbers look great on paper though!

Teammates called him out publicly for dogging it in the playoffs when the paychques stopped coming in. It didn't really reflect in his on ice performances, but was seemingly noticeable to his teammates in his attitude and demeanor. They didnt seem to trust him when the chips were down.
Unfairly or not, I will always remember this first when his name comes up (probably because it was against the Leafs and I hated him for it at the time):
