I see no signs of self-reflection on the part of the 'brain' trust.
I think it’s 50/50.

Either they don’t realize it’s a problem or they do realize it but they’re just too stupid to fix it.

Either way, if Ghost wins a cup he should just bring it outside the Flyers offices and silently stand there until they force him to leave.

Not a great look for the people who said for years the Canes aren’t good enough to win a Cup. Hurr durr their ECF record.

Winning a Cup with four 1st round picks the next 3 years (and two 2nds) would be objectively HILARIOUS. Vegas has a single top 2 round pick in the next 3 classes….and I’m not saying how they’ve gone about things hasn’t worked too. But Carolina and Tulsky run circles around the league.
Has anyone mentioned that their AHL team is in the Finals too?

If it's inane AHL bullshit, I've got you covered.
I'm almost certainly the only one here who cares about this, but this is the first time since 2008 and only the second time this century that an AHL team has made the CCF the same year their parent club made the SCF (Hurricanes/Wolves). Which is funny because the Wolves very publicly feuded with and broke away from the Canes for a year because they had one down year where Carolina wanted them to prioritize prospect ice time.

I also found it frustrating how Ghost was particularly crucified in his last year (I think Sanheim was too?) playing in a system that was very hostile to dmen. The only system more hostile and more isolating for blueliners than AV's was Eakins'. No shit the guy struggled without support chained to a bad dman, and no shit the guy immediately began doing better when he had it again.

Watching The Fan Hockey Show right now and Friedman is going on and on how good Ghost is.."he is really, really good"....and talking about his head fakes as huge to throwing Vegas off.

Then the hosts say how they had Rod on early in the year and the PP was struggling and Rod said "well we don't have Ghost playing yet".

Must be nice for Ghost to actually be appreciated by his coach.

Then they fired AV months after giving away Ghost. Same thing with Frost who Torts hated.

How soon until the Canes and Ghost win the cup and the Flyers media goes on a spree to say he lucked into it and that he actually still sucks and the Flyers were right to trade him away and that you should still hate him?

Interesting how using a player to their strengths gives them the best chance at maximizing their impact.

Yeah but can you imagine how few fans would they have in the stadium in my imaginary scenario?

On the contrary, they’ll claim that Ghost needed / benefited from what happened so that he could mature into the team player he is today.

Could Jordan Staal actually win the Conn Smythe trophy? He has scored a goal or two in every Stanley Cup final game so far this year.

It's probably either Staal or Marner. Two players nobody will have expected to even be in the conversation for that trophy.
