The playoffs begin, although we are speaking of 15 other playoff teams instead of 15 other non-playoff teams.

I know they are playing the lightning, but the Habs being +205 to win that series seems crazy to me... Unless I'm missing something

I thought this was a really really interesting video. Dick T made a lot of mistakes. The first 50 games were coached to be boring as all get out. Get to the shootout and hope Zegras and MM pull it out for us. Washington & Columbus fans might be really whiny. But they are not 100% incorrect either.

Video says Dick was talking to Pete DeBoer and took tips at the Olympics. Now what IF a small sliver of the end of the season success was Dick getting his head out of his backside and playing a more offensive style which Pete D teams have? Martone, MM on the right side, Foerster back, of course are the bigger reasons for the success of the late surge offense. But what if Dick T learned a little at the end of the season.

Weird thoughts that run through my head sometimes.

I do have some hope that he’s learned some. It’s just frustrating that fans have been calling for Zegras at C and Michkov at RW forever. I have a feeling Bump is scratched as well and he could really give our 4th line some scoring ability. And then there is the PP..

I do think he has a good defensive system and Vladar’s success was a two way street. He played well and I think Tocchet helped him out a lot. You wouldn’t think a top 4 of Sanheim, York, Risto, and Drysdale as being good defensively but they’ve done their job well. I wish we had more offense from the backend but I won’t complain too much. I think Drysdale has really improved defensively especially

It seems his line combinations are made with defense in mind and he tries to stagger the offensive talent

Also, I love that Stankoven is looking good at center.

I would also add all the times playing Juulsen and scratching Andrae was playing with defense first and not development first.

Bump i guess only plays with top 9 injury or a bad Barkey game. SHAME.

Never yet took the chance to say before that saying where one says something is softer than a baby’s poop but that first goal on Ulmark holy effin eces

If only the flyers had a veteran center who is a respected leader, kills penalties, and is excellent at the faceoff dot. That checks all the boxes for this brain trust. Maybe that player even could be a terrific playmaker? Have no idea where anyone could have found one of those though

If Ulmark can play well this will be a good series. Perhaps going the distance.

Despite standings these teams are pretty close assuming Ottawa can get some solid goaltending.

They are? I think I've seen 1 zone entry by the senators in the last 10 minutes. They can't even complete a pass, which you should be able to do even short handed. It's pretty pathetic

Carolina’s MO seems to be looking really good in early rounds before getting swept in the later rounds
