Miscellaneous NHL Discussion CX: That's A Lot.

I remember certain people telling me I was insane for thinking the org gave up on this guy way too fast, and that rewarding shutouts with demotion was questionable.

I mean, goalies are total voodoo...but the guy never gave any reason on the ice to quit on him. I actually like the long look Ersson is being given, and hopefully Tortorella's outdated system that has always left goalies under siege and required HOF performances to overcome is taken into account. It's a shame they refused to do anything like that with Stolarz.

I was also very high on Stolarz. Always looked better in the NHL than he did with the Phantoms. Played as well as you could have asked a young goalie to play whenever called up, yet the organization never seemed interested in developing him at all. He now has a .916 Save % over his 8 year career.

You got your three starts, guy. But ya can’t win in this league by stopping all the opposition shots. Pack your fancy bags.

Stolarz cost less after winning the Cup last summer than Fedotov!

I think some fans are quick to give up patience on a young goaltender. I think this organization will probably give up on Ersson as well. I can see both sides of the argument but he really is in a lose/lose situation with what is in front of him. Yes he could of been better this season but he was in a tough spot.

This sounds ridiculous, but it was the turning point for me. It was the first crack that showed me that they didn’t understand the assignment. He showed enough and we would have had a dirt cheap tandem. Could have used that extra coin to nab a big fish. Ended up with Kevin f***ing Hayes. f***ing hell.
