I don’t hate it. I’m completely on board with giving it to these random teams and towns. They deserve it.

It’s new to them and will create the local buzz that makes the event great.

The national appeal of having the same five teams hosting has seemingly been lost on the television level so might as well steer into it. Focus on the actual event experience rather than TV which I know they can’t.

This one had a bunch of issues. The lines were fabric under the ice for some reason, the ice melted and the fabric started coming through. There was also an invasion of bugs at one point. Obviously they've had a ton of experience putting these games on since then though.

i am about 90% convinced the entire Blackhawks roster is in on the tank. Passes nowhere near teammates. Awful routes to the puck. No defensive awareness. The EBUG would probably be an upgrade to Mrazek.
