Then you will be happy to know he’s signed until he’s 33 (summer of ‘32). I agree that’s strongly preferable to having to give him term at 30.
My mistake, looked at the chart and not the fine print.
That's makes him far more attractive.
At 33 you can negotiate a 3-5 year extension if he's still a top player.

The more I think about it. It’s not even incompetence.

It’s downright laziness. Hiring Briere. Jones. Tortorella. Retaining Lappy when the AHL would be a great place to train an actual future HC.

It’s a front office that’s so used to being drooled over, celebrating legacies long gone - that they are simply eating out of the cookie jar.

They are lazy as an organization. Incredibly ironic for a team that’s obsessed with hard work.

This isn’t even talking about a lack of moves or committing to a viable path. Their player evaluations are lazy as hell.
@Beef Invictus has been saying it for years.. this Org. always does the absolute least amount of work as possible on ANY given decision...

its still true today

I don't understand people who complain that there are coaches who take timeout to have more time to check a play, then challenge the play. It's not a free benefit, you lose your timeout. Having said that, this long-ass replay that led to NYR goal being disallowed was comical.

you think Petterson wants to come here ?

Doesn't really matter if he does. He doesn't have any trade protection, they don't have to ask him at all.

Now, if he gets traded here (he won't, but a man can dream) and tries to force his way out, we'd have to deal with that then, but at this juncture, his future is entirely in Allvin's hands, and he can trade him anywhere he sees fit.

It's Miller who can veto any deal, and that might be the deciding factor in terms of which of the two remains in Vancouver. (That, and potentially Tocchet's evaluation of who better fits the team they intend to be.)

I have no clue what he'd want, I'm saying what I want!

But I do believe, for the most part in sports business, anyone can be had when you meet the price (unless a guy flat out says he won't play in X location obviously; Gauthier).

I liked the Winter Classic until they added a bunch of Stadium Series games every year. The NHL showed their corporate, greedy, short-sighted side there and I guess there was nobody in the room to tell them that oversaturation will only lead to fatigue.

I am certain that you, I, and others all predicted that they were ruining a good thing by removing the uniqueness in a blatant cash grab.

That Leier, Martel 2017 post though *chefs kiss* How this board and the hive overrate their prospects
If you post for long enough on this board you're gonna have some bad takes, but the consistency of his bad takes over close to a decade is truly exceptional.
