I don’t think there is any history of any team firing their coach right after another coach firing to hire that guy.
Vegas did it. Bruce Cassidy was fired by the Bruins in June 2022. Eight days later, Vegas fired Pete DeBoer and hired Cassidy.
That was in the offseason, though.

Vegas actually did it when they hired DeBoer, as well.
DeBoer was fired by the Sharks in December 2019 and Vegas hired him in January 2020 after firing Gerard Gallant...
The Ducks did this to hire Bruce Boudreau, firing Randy Carlyle. Boudreau was fired by the Caps 2 days before.The Blues kind of pulled this off in 1994. Mike Keenan wasn't fired, but he loopholed himself out of the Rangers job, and the Blues demoted their head coach, Bob Berry, to an assistant position to hire Keenan as HC and GM.
